Vietnamese community in Kansai enthusiastically supports Nam Dinh hometown football team

WVR - On the evening of October 22, at Panasonic Suita Stadium (Osaka, Japan), the football match between Gamba Osaka and Nam Dinh FC in Group F of the AFC Champions League Two 2025/26 took place with great excitement, attracting Japanese spectators and the Vietnamese community living in Kansai.

From the very first minutes, Gamba Osaka showcased the superior strength of the home team with excellent ball control and seamless coordination. They opened the score in the 16th minute thanks to Rin Mito, before forward Issam Jebali doubled the lead early in the second half.

In the 89th minute, an unfortunate own goal by defender José Walber De Mota De Amorim increased the score to 3-0 for Gamba.

However, in the stoppage time, forward Kyle Hudlin managed to score a consolation goal for Nam Dinh, concluding the match with a 3-1 result.

The special aspect of this match was not just the performance on the field, but also the enthusiastic atmosphere from the stands.

Vietnamese fans, many from Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, and nearby provinces, came to support, bringing along red flags with yellow stars and banners to cheer for their hometown team.

The cheers of "Go Nam Dinh!" echoed throughout the stands, creating a proud and emotional atmosphere in the heart of Japan.

Notably, representatives from the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka, along with diplomatic staff, were present in the stands to support Nam Dinh FC.

Their presence was not only a significant morale boost for the players but also demonstrated the affection and concern of the Vietnamese diplomatic mission for sports and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
