Belarus Film Days in Vietnam 2026 to showcase 6 outstanding cinematic works

WVR - From June 26-28, the Department of Cinema (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in collaboration with the Belarus National Film Studio (Belarusfilm) and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus will organize the Belarus Film Days in Vietnam 2026 at the National Cinema Center (Hanoi).

The event is organized under Decision No. 1311/QD-BVHTTDL dated June 4, 2026, by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, aiming to enhance cultural exchange and promote cinematic cooperation between Vietnam and Belarus.

The opening ceremony will take place at 7 PM on June 26 with the premiere of Chung mot bau troi (One for Two) directed by Ivan Pavlov. The film recounts the true story of two Belarusian pilots who sacrificed their lives to steer a malfunctioning aircraft away from residential areas, safeguarding the lives of civilians.

During the event, audiences in the capital will have the opportunity to enjoy six films of various genres, reflecting the history, culture, nature, and contemporary life of Belarus.

Besides Chung mot bau troi, the program will also feature works such as Khuc ca cua Tien chim Sirin, Khu du tru sinh quyen Berezinsky, Co giao chu nhiem, Buoc ngoat quyet dinh, and Lau dai den.

Notably, Khuc ca cua Tien chim Sirin takes viewers into the mythical world of the Slavs, while Khu du tru sinh quyen Berezinsky showcases the natural beauty of one of Belarus's oldest reserves. The films Co giao chu nhiem and Buoc ngoat quyet dinh explore inspiring stories of education, resilience, and the human journey to overcome challenges.

Concluding the program is the film Lau dai den, adapted from the famous novel by writer Vladimir Korotkevich, blending elements of history, detective fiction, and fantasy.

According to the organizers, the National Cinema Center will distribute free tickets for all screenings starting at 9 AM on June 24. Post-screening sessions will include interactions with representatives from the Belarusian film delegation, providing audiences with deeper insights into the cinema of this Eastern European nation.
