Vietnamese students in Thailand aim for a new journey
WVR - With the achievements of the 2025-2026 academic year, the Vietnamese Student Association in Thailand enters the new academic year with numerous activities aimed at celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Association's founding and the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Thailand diplomatic relations.

Established on December 26, 2017, originally as the Provisional Contact Committee for Vietnamese Students in Thailand, the Vietnamese Student Association in Thailand represents the community of Vietnamese students, researchers, and scholars living and studying in Thailand. It is one of 16 overseas Vietnamese student associations under the Central Vietnamese Student Association.
Fostering solidarity and responsibility
In the 2025-2026 academic year, the Association organized and participated in numerous activities such as the “Vietnam - 80 Years of an Epic” contest, a competition to understand the 14th Party Congress Resolution, activities commemorating the 136th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, and support for those affected by natural disasters.
These activities contribute to educating tradition, fostering patriotism, national pride, and a sense of responsibility among Vietnamese students in Thailand. Additionally, through community activities, Vietnamese students have more opportunities to act as a bridge between the Vietnamese community and their homeland, contributing to strengthening Vietnam-Thailand friendship.

At the “VSAT Reunion 2026” program, the Vietnamese Student Association in Thailand commended individuals who achieved the “Five-Good Student” title for the 2025-2026 academic year, the “Young Vietnamese Scientist in Thailand” title, and those who made significant contributions to the association's work, student movements, and community activities.
The achievements are a recognition of the learning, research, training, and contributions of Vietnamese students in Thailand; they also provide motivation for the student movement to continue developing in the new academic year.
Aiming for the 10-year milestone
The 2026-2027 academic year takes place in the context of Vietnam and Thailand celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations (1976-2026). The two countries upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in May 2025 and continue to promote cooperation in various fields. This is also the year the Vietnamese Student Association in Thailand aims for the 10-year milestone of its establishment and growth.

According to Chairman of the Vietnamese Student Association in Thailand Tran Huu Duy, since the first Congress of the Vietnamese Student Association in Thailand in 2017, the Association has gradually developed, becoming a place to connect and accompany Vietnamese students in various localities in Thailand.
In the new academic year, the Association plans to implement various activities such as an online contest celebrating the 80th anniversary of the National Resistance Day, a journey to the roots, a “Five-Good Student” training week, and a sports festival for Vietnamese students in Thailand.
The Association also continues to support and accompany new students, creating an environment for Vietnamese students to quickly integrate into life and study in Thailand and to develop their personal abilities.

Chairman of the Vietnamese Student Association in Thailand Tran Huu Duy believes that in the context of the two countries celebrating significant milestones, Vietnamese students in Thailand not only focus on studying, researching, and accumulating knowledge but also play the role of “young ambassadors”, contributing to extending the friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
With activities implemented in a practical direction, the Vietnamese Student Association in Thailand continues to affirm its role in gathering and connecting the community of Vietnamese students, while contributing to building a generation of knowledgeable, responsible youth who are committed to the Vietnam-Thailand relationship.
