Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated that, according to information from Vietnamese representative missions abroad and relevant authorities, most Vietnamese citizens traveling, transiting, or temporarily stranded due to flight cancellations caused by airspace closures have returned to Vietnam or boarded subsequent flights to leave the Middle East region.

For Vietnamese ships and crew members operating in the Middle East who have not yet been able to leave the Strait of Hormuz, Vietnamese representative missions abroad are closely coordinating with local authorities.

Relevant authorities are continuously monitoring the situation and are ready to implement measures to ensure the security and safety of both people and vessels.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has instructed the Vietnamese Embassies in Israel, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar to open online registrations to gather the wishes of citizens wanting to return home or move to a third country, as a basis for coordinating with relevant authorities to develop support plans.

Following the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' directive, Vietnamese representative missions in Iran and Israel, as well as in neighboring regions, have reviewed the needs of Vietnamese citizens locally and are closely coordinating with local authorities and relevant domestic agencies to implement appropriate plans.

Regarding citizen protection activities in some countries, in Saudi Arabia, the Vietnamese Embassy has worked with local authorities and received agreement from Saudi Arabia to grant free transit visas to Vietnamese citizens at border gates and at Saudi Arabian representative missions in the region.

For ships with Vietnamese crew stranded at Saudi Arabian ports, at the Embassy's request, the port authority has proactively contacted the ships and Vietnamese crew representatives to assess the situation and support necessary requests from Vietnamese citizens.

In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Vietnamese Embassy has worked with the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UAE airlines to request support and facilitate the transit of over 200 Vietnamese tourists stranded at major airports such as Dubai or Zayed to a third country. Meanwhile, the Embassy has also received many Vietnamese citizens and provided necessary supplies while they are unable to leave Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

"We would like to emphasize once again that Vietnamese citizens in Iran, Israel, and neighbouring countries should regularly follow information from local authorities and warnings from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese representative missions abroad.

In emergencies or difficulties, Vietnamese citizens can immediately contact the 24/7 citizen protection hotlines of Vietnamese representative missions in the aforementioned countries and regions or the Citizen Protection Call Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for immediate assistance," Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang emphasized.
