Launch of the Vietnamese Knowledge Network in New Zealand
WVR - On July 23, the Vietnamese Knowledge Network in New Zealand (VietKnowledge NZ - VKNZ) was officially launched with the participation of representatives from various Vietnamese community groups, along with a large number of expatriates, workers, experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, researchers, and students living, studying, and working across New Zealand.

The event marks the formation of the first Vietnamese knowledge network operating on a nationwide scale in New Zealand. VKNZ was established to connect and leverage the intellectual resources of the Vietnamese community, enhance community cohesion, promote people-to-people cooperation as well as bilateral relations between the two countries, and contribute positively to the overall development of Vietnam and New Zealand.
With the support and companionship of the Vietnamese Embassy in New Zealand, the Vietnamese Knowledge Network in New Zealand aims to build a united, dynamic, and influential community; create a space for members to share knowledge, experiences, and initiatives; and serve as a bridge to promote professional cooperation, community development, and people-to-people exchanges between Vietnam and New Zealand.
Speaking highly of the significance and importance of the initiative to establish the VKNZ Network, Vietnamese Ambassador to New Zealand Phan Minh Giang emphasized that in the context of the Vietnamese community in New Zealand growing both in quantity and quality, the VKNZ Network is established by Vietnamese, for Vietnamese, and for the benefit of Vietnamese in New Zealand.
Offering guidance for the Network's future development, the Ambassador conveyed the message of "3 enhancements", which include cherishing and caring for Vietnamese people, uniting for development, enhancing the image of Vietnam, preserving and promoting Vietnamese identity, and elevating Vietnam's status in New Zealand.
Currently, VKNZ has nearly 100 members, including experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, researchers, students, and workers living, studying, and working across New Zealand.
One of the highlights of VKNZ is its broad approach to the concept of "knowledge". Knowledge is not limited to academia or research but also includes professional expertise, life skills, practical experiences, and lessons accumulated during the process of learning, working, and contributing.
With this spirit, VKNZ welcomes all Vietnamese in New Zealand who wish to connect, share, and contribute, regardless of profession, field of activity, or educational background.
There are currently about 15,000 Vietnamese people living in New Zealand. The launch of the Vietnamese Knowledge Network in New Zealand is not just a forum for community connection; VKNZ is expected to become a bridge to promote cooperation, disseminate knowledge, and enhance people-to-people exchanges, contributing to building a united, integrated, and sustainably developing Vietnamese community in New Zealand.
