Vietnamese Cultural Festival in Wroclaw, Poland

WVR - On July 4th, at the Wroclaw Old Town Centre, the Vietnamese cultural festival took place in a vibrant and colourful festive atmosphere, rich in traditional Vietnamese culture, arts, and cuisine.

The event was honourably hosted by the Vietnamese Ambassador to Poland and the Mayor of Wroclaw; it was co-sponsored and organized by the city of Wroclaw, the Vietnamese Association in Poland - Wroclaw Chapter, the Vietnamese Integration Support Fund, the Women's Association, and the Vietnamese Student Association in Poland.

Attending the festival were Vietnamese Ambassador to Poland Ha Hoang Hai, Deputy Mayor of Wroclaw Jakub Mazur, Deputy Minister of Economy Michal Jaros, Chairman of the Poland - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group Grzegorz Napieralski, representatives of city government departments, and Vietnamese community organizations in Poland.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Ha Hoang Hai expressed sincere gratitude to the Mayor and the Wroclaw city government for sponsoring and co-organizing the festival; he also thanked the Vietnamese community organizations, sponsors, and individuals for their support and collaboration in organizing this meaningful event.

The Ambassador emphasized that Vietnam and Poland have maintained a traditional friendship for over 75 years and are currently important partners; there are over 30,000 Vietnamese living, studying, and working in Poland, serving as a bridge to foster and nurture the friendship between the two nations.

The Ambassador affirmed that the Vietnamese cultural festival, along with other cultural and people-to-people exchange activities, is a crucial and practical way to promote bilateral friendship and cooperation in fields such as economy, trade, investment, and tourism.

On behalf of the Wroclaw city administration, Deputy Mayor Jakub Mazur expressed thanks to the Vietnamese Embassy, the Vietnamese community in Poland, and the city of Wroclaw for organizing the festival, providing residents and international visitors with the opportunity to enjoy the unique cultural values of Vietnam, enriching the cultural life of local residents, and promoting Wroclaw as a multicultural city in Poland and Europe.

The Vietnamese Cultural Festival in Wroclaw was organized on a grand scale in the open space of the Wroclaw Old Town Center, attracting tens of thousands of Polish and international visitors to explore and experience the unique aspects of Vietnamese culture.

The event featured various cultural, artistic, and musical performances such as lion dances, Quan ho singing, Chau van singing, traditional musical instruments, calligraphy, Ao Dai fashion shows, along with an exhibition space for paintings, publications, souvenirs, handicrafts, and the promotion of traditional cuisine with 20 booths offering many enticing dishes that have become a hallmark of Vietnamese cuisine such as pho, nem, and banh xeo. These elements truly captivated and drew visitors to participate and experience the festival.

The event received extensive coverage from many media outlets, social media platforms in Poland, and the city of Wroclaw, contributing to the promotion and dissemination of the image of Vietnam's land, people, culture, and tourism, as well as the successful integration of the Vietnamese community in the host country.
