Phu Tho holds groundbreaking ceremony for Meiko Yen Quang Electronic Chip Manufacturing Plant

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were Central Committee member, Government Party Committee Standing Member, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung; Party Central Committee member, Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc.
From Phu Tho Province, there were Party Central Committee member, Provincial Party Secretary, Head of the National Assembly Delegation Pham Dai Duong; Alternate Party Central Committee member, Deputy Provincial Party Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong.
The ceremony was also attended by representatives from central ministries, agencies, the provincial People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and leaders from provincial departments, agencies, and localities.
The Meiko Yen Quang Electronic Chip Manufacturing Plant Project, executed by Meiko Yen Quang Electronics Co., Ltd., is located at Lot CN-1.3, Yen Quang Industrial Park, Thinh Minh Commune, covering an area of over 80,000 m² with a total investment of 13,193 billion VND.
The project's goal is to produce, manufacture, process, and assemble various electronic, optoelectronic components, and electronic chips to support the development of new-generation smart devices such as peripherals, mobile phones, computers, specialized digital cameras, new-generation camera modules, smart terminals, microprocessors, and controllers.
The Meiko Yen Quang project is Meiko's sixth plant in Vietnam, raising the group's total investment in the country to over 2 billion USD, further affirming investor confidence in Vietnam's investment environment and development potential, particularly in Phu Tho Province.
In his speech at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung praised Phu Tho Province's efforts in improving the investment environment, proactively supporting businesses, and attracting high-tech industrial projects.

“The Meiko Yen Quang Electronic Chip Manufacturing Plant Project is significant in Vietnam's strategy for developing the electronics, semiconductor, and high-tech industries. It contributes to enhancing production capacity, deeper integration into the global electronics supply chain, while also creating jobs and promoting local socio-economic development,” emphasized the Deputy Prime Minister.
The Deputy Prime Minister urged Phu Tho Province to continue fostering a supportive environment for businesses, addressing challenges, expediting related procedures, and ensuring optimal conditions for the project's timely, safe, and effective implementation.
He also called on the investor to mobilize resources, organize construction to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency; apply modern technology, comply with Vietnamese laws, especially on construction, environment, labor, and fire safety; and enhance technology transfer and high-quality human resource training.
Moreover, he requested central ministries and agencies to continue closely coordinating with local authorities and businesses to proactively support and guide, resolving difficulties during the project's implementation, contributing to completing the electronic and high-tech industrial ecosystem and enhancing national competitiveness.
Chairman of the Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong noted that the Meiko Yen Quang Electronic Chip Manufacturing Plant Project is of special importance, aligning with Phu Tho's investment attraction strategy and industrial development orientation in the new phase.
Following the merger of Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, and Hoa Binh provinces, Phu Tho boasts significant potential and advantages in strategic location, industrial infrastructure, human resources, and key industrial ecosystems, particularly in automobiles, motorcycles, electronics, and mechanical engineering.
“Meiko Group's decision to invest in a second project in Phu Tho not only reflects international investor confidence in the province's investment environment but also underscores Phu Tho's appeal in attracting high-quality FDI projects, especially in high-tech and electronics industries,” stated Chairman Tran Duy Dong.

To ensure the project is completed and operational on schedule, Chairman Tran Duy Dong urged provincial departments, agencies, the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board, Thinh Minh Commune authorities, and the industrial park infrastructure investor to continue close coordination, proactively supporting and promptly addressing arising challenges.
He also called on Meiko Group and consulting units, construction contractors to maximize resources, organize scientific construction, ensure project quality and progress; strictly comply with laws on investment, construction, land, environment, fire safety, and labor safety.
At the ceremony, delegates performed the groundbreaking ritual for the Meiko Yen Quang Electronic Chip Manufacturing Plant Project.
The event marks an important beginning for a modern high-tech project, expected to create jobs, boost economic growth, enhance industrial production value, and contribute positively to Phu Tho's sustainable development goals.
