Overseas Vietnamese in Germany gather to celebrate Hanoi's Liberation Day

In his opening remarks, Cong Viet Cuong, Chairman of the Hanoi Association in Germany, reminisced about the heroic history of October 10, 1954, a historic moment when the army and people liberated the capital after nine years of protracted resistance.
During the event, documentary images and emotional narratives depicted a Hanoi adorned with flags and flowers, showcasing an indomitable spirit and a belief in the future.
Members, who once lived, studied, and grew up in familiar streets, shared youthful memories and nostalgia about Hanoi...
Many, despite having left the homeland decades ago, were moved when mentioning Hanoi, a place that holds a part of their memory and soul.
Attending the event, Vietnamese Embassy Counselor in Germany Dang Hoang Linh acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the Hanoi Association in Germany in maintaining community activities, connecting expatriates, and spreading the spirit of looking towards the homeland.
Especially during the recent support campaign for compatriots affected by storms and floods initiated by the Embassy and the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Germany, the Hanoi Association not only contributed actively but also directly called for and organized fundraising efforts to support those back home.

For a long time, Hanoi natives, no matter where they live, have always been a source of pride for their homeland. They are the keepers of culture, known for their elegant, sophisticated manners and compassion.
In Germany, the Hanoi Association continuously promotes tradition, maintains cultural and social activities aimed at the homeland, contributes to people-to-people diplomacy, and promotes the image of Vietnam to international friends.
The ceremony concluded in a joyful, warm atmosphere with timeless songs such as Nho ve Ha Noi (Think of Hanoi), Nguoi Ha Noi (Hanoian), Ha Noi niem tin và hy vong (Hanoi- Hope and Belief), Bai ca Ha Noi.(Song about Hanoi).. allowing everyone to relive the proud moments of the nation on the day the capital was liberated.
