The workshop was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Industry of Israel, universities, research institutes, businesses, and organizations operating in the high-tech agriculture sector of both countries.

The event marked the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Israel, aiming to promote cooperation in modern agriculture. It provided a forum for parties to exchange practical needs, introduce technological solutions, connect businesses, and seek opportunities for investment cooperation and technology transfer.

In his opening remarks, Vietnamese Ambassador to Israel Nguyen Ky Son emphasised the significant potential for cooperation between the two countries in high-tech agriculture, especially as Vietnam is pushing for the restructuring of its agricultural sector towards increasing added value, sustainable development, and the application of science and technology in production.

Ambassador Nguyen Ky Son noted that Israel has extensive experience and strengths in developing advanced agricultural solutions that align with Vietnam's innovation needs. He expressed hope that the workshop would create more substantial cooperation opportunities between localities, businesses, and research institutes of the two countries.

At the workshop, Mr. Ofer Fohrer, Head of Export and Investment Promotion under the Foreign Trade Administration, Ministry of Economy and Industry of Israel, shared insights on the prospects for cooperation in trade, investment, and high-tech agriculture between the two nations.

Associate Professor, Dr., Lawyer Tran Van Dung from Vu MacKenzie Vietnam Law Firm (VMK) and the University of Finance and Marketing introduced the current state and solutions to promote the application of artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and digital technology in Vietnamese agriculture.

Israeli businesses and experts introduced various technologies and solutions for sustainable agricultural development, such as smart irrigation technology, greenhouses, crop varieties, microbial technology, post-harvest solutions, aquaculture, and digital transformation in agriculture.

Scientists from Ben-Gurion University and Israeli research institutions also shared new research on irrigation systems using the Internet of Things (IoT), water-saving technology, drought-resistant, salt-tolerant, and heat-resistant crop varieties, breeding techniques, and solutions to adapt to climate change. In the aquaculture sector, experts introduced recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), submerged cage farming models, and technologies to enhance production efficiency.

On the Vietnamese side, representatives from localities, universities, and research institutes shared their needs for developing high-tech agriculture, the challenges in technology application, and the need for cooperation in human resource training, technology transfer, scientific research, and the implementation of pilot models.

The workshop was deemed a practical activity to enhance connections between businesses, research institutes, and management agencies of the two countries, contributing to promoting cooperation in research, investment, technology transfer, and building modern, sustainable agricultural models that adapt to global challenges.
