A unique space blending tradition and modernity
The Hanoi 2025 Tradition and Creativity Space was organized under the direction of the Hanoi People’s Committee and led by the Department of Industry and Trade. Its purpose is to honor cultural values and heritage while affirming the capital city’s aspirations for innovation in an era of integration.
With six main exhibition zones, the space offers the public a comprehensive picture of Hanoi’s development journey—past, present, and future.
Hanoi Highlights presents exquisite handicrafts such as ceramics, lacquerware, mother-of-pearl inlay, and bamboo weaving. Each creation reflects not only the artisans’ skill and creativity but also the cultural depth and thousand-year-old identity of the city.
The space is accentuated by iconic images of One-Pillar Pagoda and Khue Van Pavilion, evoking the city’s cultural origins.
Craft Street Heritage introduces Hanoi’s famous traditional craft villages, where artisans perform live demonstrations and share the stories of their trade. This allows the public to better understand the persistence in preserving and passing down the nation’s heritage.
Pioneering Technology showcases high-tech products, artificial intelligence solutions, and digital transformation applications that serve urban life. This zone reflects Hanoi’s ambition to become a hub of creativity and technological innovation, in line with global development trends.
Gifts of Hanoi treats visitors to signature culinary delights such as Vong Village green rice, Uoc Le pork rolls, preserved fruits, lotus tea, and Bach Diep lotus-scented tea. These are not only foods but also memories and the very soul of the thousand-year-old capital.
Cultural Roots recreates traditional cultural experiences such as calligraphy, conical hat making, and toy figurine crafting. Figures like Saint Giong and symbols such as O Quan Chuong Gate and Dong Xuan Market are featured to remind the public of national pride.
Village in the City reimagines a northern Vietnamese countryside village within the modern urban space, complete with a communal yard, mossy-tiled roofs, bonsai trees, and folk performance spaces for cheo, ca tru, tuong, and ao dai fashion shows.

Through this harmonious combination, the Hanoi 2025 Tradition and Creativity Space portrays a Hanoi that preserves its traditions while aspiring toward innovation and readiness for global integration.
A representative of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade stated that the space was designed to promote the city’s achievements in culture, tourism, and the creative industries—key sectors tied to the capital’s economic development. It also provides an opportunity to present to both domestic and international audiences a dynamic, creative Hanoi rich in identity.
According to the department’s leaders, what makes the space special is its interplay between past and present. While handicrafts, craft villages, and cuisine affirm traditional identity, the technology and innovation exhibits demonstrate the capital’s drive and ambition in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This combination is seen as the key to sustainable development—balancing heritage preservation with creative economic growth, investment attraction, and tourism promotion.
Hanoi: Resilient, creative, reaching out to the world
After touring the zones, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh praised the efforts and creativity in the organization of the Hanoi 2025 Tradition and Creativity Space. He emphasized that this event holds particular significance as the capital pursues new development goals.
According to him, Hanoi, with its deep cultural traditions, is a place where the nation’s cultural essence gathers and shines. However, to meet the demands of the times, the capital must continuously innovate and apply modern technologies across all areas of life.

This year’s space is proof of that convergence—both honoring traditional values and asserting a vision of sustainable, modern development.
Chairman Tran Sy Thanh affirmed: “The organization of the Tradition and Creativity Space not only serves citizens and visitors but also conveys a message of a bold, open Hanoi ready to embrace the world. This is the right direction for Hanoi to continue its role as the nation’s leader and center of politics, culture, science, education, and innovation”.
He expressed hope that the displays, exchanges, and experiences at the space will spark new creative ideas, bring traditional crafts and new technologies to wider markets, and serve not only as a cultural event but also as an economic connector—boosting entrepreneurship, innovation, and spreading the Hanoi brand internationally.
The Hanoi 2025 Tradition and Creativity Space is open to the public from August 28 to September 5. With its large scale and rich content, the event promises to become a highlight cultural and tourism destination during the Independence Day holiday on September 2, attracting residents of the capital, visitors from across the country, and international friends.
