At the reception, Director General Pham Binh Dam congratulated Ms. Nasly Isabel Bernal Prado on her new responsibility, expressing confidence that during her tenure in Vietnam, Ambassador Nasly Isabel Bernal Prado will act as a bridge, contributing to strengthening and deepening the traditional friendship between the two countries.
The Director General expressed delight at the positive developments in bilateral relations, with both sides agreeing on the necessity of enhancing delegation exchanges and contacts at all levels, especially in 2026, marking the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations (March 25, 1971 - March 25, 2026).
Director General Dam emphasized that Vietnam–Chile relations have always maintained a foundation of mutual trust and friendship. Cooperation in various fields such as politics, diplomacy, economy, trade, education, and culture has yielded positive results. Vietnam wishes to continue exploring potential and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual strength and demand, especially in trade, tourism, agriculture, renewable energy, as well as enhancing coordination and mutual support at international forums.
Ambassador Nasly Isabel Bernal Prado expressed her honour at being appointed as Ambassador to Vietnam, appreciating Vietnam's socio-economic achievements and its growing international stature and role.
The Ambassador affirmed her commitment to contributing to the substantive and effective development of the friendly cooperative relations between Chile and Vietnam, for the benefit of the peoples of both countries, and for peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
Ambassador Nasly Isabel Bernal Prado is a professional diplomat, beginning her career in the Middle East and Africa Department of the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1999. She has held positions such as working at the Permanent Mission of Chile to the United Nations in New York (2017-2020) and serving as the Consul General of Chile in Australia (2021-2025).
