Deputy Prime Minister Francisco Kalbuadi Lay highly appreciated Vietnam's development achievements and its consistent support for Timor-Leste's regional and international integration, including its accession to the World Trade Organization and ASEAN. The Deputy Prime Minister noted that Vietnam's development and integration experiences offer valuable insights for Timor-Leste.

The two sides discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in agriculture and food security, human resource development, digital transformation, tourism, connectivity, and investment attraction. Chargé d'affaires Pham Binh Dam affirmed Vietnam's readiness to share experiences and connect agencies, localities, and businesses of both countries, in line with Timor-Leste's development needs and priorities.

The Chargé d'affaires suggested that the two countries have favorable conditions to establish practical cooperation programs, initially by promoting expert exchanges, assessing needs, training personnel, and enhancing connections between business communities. In tourism, both sides agreed that Timor-Leste has the potential to develop products linked to natural landscapes, islands, and unique cultural identities.

Discussing Timor-Leste's preparation for assuming the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2029, Deputy Prime Minister Francisco Kalbuadi Lay expressed a desire to learn from Vietnam's experience in organizing multilateral events, training personnel, protocol, logistics, communication, and inter-agency coordination. Chargé d'affaires Pham Binh Dam affirmed Vietnam's willingness to exchange and share relevant experiences, contributing to Timor-Leste's proactive and effective participation in ASEAN activities.

Deputy Prime Minister Francisco Kalbuadi Lay affirmed that the Government of Timor-Leste values the presence of Vietnamese businesses and is ready to consider and support resolving challenges in the investment and business process. Both sides agreed to continue coordinating with relevant agencies to identify specific fields, projects, and cooperative activities.

The meeting contributed to deepening Vietnam–Timor-Leste relations, turning potential and political goodwill into practical cooperation programs, serving the development of each country and contributing to solidarity and cooperation within ASEAN.
