The meeting was held immediately following the Subcommittee's field survey in Phu Quoc Special Zone, An Giang Province, in early July 2026.
Attendees included members of the APEC 2027 Communication and Culture Subcommittee; leaders from major press agencies and host media organizations such as Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, and Vietnam News Agency; representatives from telecommunications companies VNPT, Viettel, MobiFone, NetNam, and Sun Group – the project's main investor.
In her directive speech, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang emphasized the special importance of communication and culture during the APEC Year 2027, highlighting it as an opportunity to promote the image of Vietnam and its people to international friends.
The Deputy Minister affirmed that the International Press Centre is one of the key components, directly serving thousands of domestic and international journalists and hundreds of media agencies covering the APEC Economic Leaders' Week 2027.
Therefore, the construction of the IPC must be meticulously prepared, modern, professional, meeting international standards and the increasingly high operational requirements of the press.

During the meeting, delegates focused on discussing the design, planning, and technical requirements of the IPC. Representatives from host media agencies proposed several professional requirements related to signal distribution systems, live broadcast standards, the master control room (MCR), international network infrastructure, studio space, work areas, and booths for press agencies.
Telecommunications company representatives contributed ideas on ensuring IT and telecommunications infrastructure, including fiber optic systems, high-speed internet, 5G mobile networks, transmission stations, and satellite TV trucks, to meet the demands of organizing a large-scale international event.
The project's main investor and attending agencies also discussed the overall planning, functional subdivision arrangements, and technical infrastructure of the IPC, while updating the project's progress and areas needing further completion in the coming period.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang highly appreciated the sense of responsibility and proactive coordination of the agencies and units during the preparation process.
Emphasizing that the time from now until the APEC Economic Leaders' Week 2027 is limited, the Deputy Minister urged units to continue close coordination, maintain regular communication to promptly address difficulties and obstacles, and swiftly finalize the construction plans, space arrangements, and technical infrastructure of the IPC. This ensures synchronized, timely, safe, and high-quality implementation, contributing to the successful organization of APEC Vietnam 2027.
