During the reception, Director General Le Cong Dung congratulated Ambassador Shadi Abu Zarqa on his new position, expressing confidence that the Ambassador will have a successful tenure, further promoting the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Palestine in the coming period.
The Director General affirmed that Vietnam always values the traditional friendship with Palestine, which has been cultivated by generations of leaders and people of both countries over the decades. Vietnam highly appreciates the support, affection, and attachment that the State and people of Palestine have shown towards Vietnam throughout history. He also expressed a desire for both sides to continue inheriting the positive achievements, enhancing delegation exchanges, and cooperating in political, diplomatic, economic, cultural, and educational fields.
For his part, Ambassador Shadi Abu Zarqa affirmed that Palestine always values its relationship with Vietnam, appreciating Vietnam's role and developmental achievements on the international stage. The Ambassador expressed his desire to actively contribute to strengthening bilateral relations, enhancing understanding and cooperation between the two countries during his tenure.
Director General Le Cong Dung also affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, including the Directorate of State Protocol and Interpretation, will continue to coordinate, support, and create favorable conditions for the Palestinian Embassy in Vietnam to effectively carry out diplomatic activities, contributing to the promotion of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Shadi Abu Zarqa thanked the Vietnamese agencies for their active support of the Palestinian Embassy in recent times, affirming his commitment to deepening Vietnam-Palestine relations in the future.
| Ambassador, Dr. Shadi Abu Zarqa is a diplomat, legal scholar, and expert in international law from Palestine. In the field of government and diplomacy, he served as the Director of Planning and Training for the Judicial Affairs of the Palestinian Security Forces (2017). In the same year, he was appointed as Counselor at the Palestinian Embassy in Beijing (China), later serving as Deputy Head of Mission (Deputy Ambassador). From 2023 to 2025, he held the role of Chargé d'affaires at the Palestinian Embassy in Beijing, leading the mission during a period of expanding Palestine-China relations. In 2026, he was appointed as the Palestinian Ambassador to Vietnam, continuing to contribute to fostering friendship and cooperation between Palestine and Asian countries, including Vietnam. |
