Kun fresh milk and the story of farmers creating million-dollar fields in Tuyen Quang
Latest
This transformation stems from a sustainable consumption linkage between local farmers and the Lof Ho Toan Dairy Farm – the unit providing the raw fresh milk for the familiar Kun fresh milk products enjoyed by millions of Vietnamese children and farmers in Tuyen Quang.
“Reviving” the Alluvial Lands Along the Lo River
Tuyen Quang is blessed by nature with a strip of alluvial land along the Lo River, featuring thick soil layers, high fertility, rich organic matter, and superior water retention capabilities. The abundant hydrological network, combined with the midland climate, which has a large day-night temperature range, allows the green roughage plants grown here to accumulate high levels of natural sugars and crude protein.

However, in the past, much of the alluvial land was left fallow, or farmers only engaged in small-scale traditional crop cultivation. The biggest barriers were unstable market outlets, high material costs, and the fear of “bumper crops but low prices”.
This bottleneck was officially resolved when Lof Ho Toan Dairy Farm implemented a green roughage purchasing linkage model associated with the Agricultural Restructuring Project of Tuyen Quang province. The farm proactively partnered with local farmers, transforming the alluvial lands along the Lo River into a large-scale “green roughage belt”, providing a foundation for farmers to confidently transition their crop structures.
A Stable Cash Flow of Nearly 17 Billion VND Annually to the Fields
Instead of growing corn for grain, which takes 100–120 days to harvest, farmers participating in the linkage chain switched to growing silage corn, harvested precisely at the “milky stage” (only 80–85 days). Shortening the cultivation cycle allows farmers to increase from 2 to 3–4 crops per year, maximizing land use value and increasing revenue per unit area by 1.5 to 2 times compared to before.

To date, the linkage network of Lof Ho Toan Farm has attracted approximately 1,258 farmer households to participate in cooperation. Each year, the farm directly pays nearly 17 billion VND to purchase tens of millions of kilograms of silage corn, high-yield grass, and agricultural by-products from farmers in the raw material area. This stable cash flow not only “pours” directly into the villages but also turns the cultivation of green roughage into a profession that provides a stable income for thousands of families.
Confidently Prosper “with Just One Profession, Mastering It for Life” in Their Hometown
Thanks to contracts guaranteeing output and commitments to stable prices regardless of weather or seasonal fluctuations, many farmer households have risen to become professional producers.
Mr. Dung, a major silage corn supplier in the area, shared: “In the past, many places stopped growing corn due to reliance on the free market and unstable prices. Since partnering with Lof Ho Toan Farm, although the input quality standards are stringent regarding moisture and cob ratio, the farm always purchases 100% of the committed output. I currently supply nearly 6,000 tons of corn annually, providing stable employment and peace of mind for hundreds of corn-growing households along the river.”

Not only corn, but the model also witnessed the progress of households specializing in grass cultivation, like the families of Mr. Tinh and Mr. Tuyen. With initial support in seeds, materials, and high-capacity pumps from Lof Ho Toan, Mr. Tuyen accumulated and leased nearly 5 hectares of alluvial land from surrounding farmers. Each day, his family harvests about 5 tons of grass for the farm, creating regular employment for many middle-aged workers in the locality.
Thanks to the natural advantages of fertile alluvial land along the Lo River and cool water sources, roughage crops like silage corn and high-yield grass cultivated here achieve high nutritional content and natural sugar levels. This is the fresh feed that helps dairy cows grow healthily, producing pure fresh milk with superior natural protein and fat indices.

Affirming the socio-economic value of the linkage chain, Mrs. Mai Thi Hoan, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture – Environment of Tuyen Quang province, stated: The model of land consolidation and bringing green roughage crops to the alluvial lands along the Lo River to supply Lof Ho Toan Dairy Farm is a breakthrough in the crop structure transformation of the province.
The enterprise's purchase of green roughage facilitates the transition of some land areas to livestock feed production, increasing land use coefficients and enhancing value per unit area. More importantly, the model contributes to creating a clear economic relationship: enterprises need stable raw materials; farmers need stable market outlets; and rural areas need stable jobs and livelihoods.

The high-quality raw fresh milk from the farm is then transported to the LOF factory in Ba Vi and processed within 24 hours. The product is supplemented with essential micronutrients (Vitamin A, D3, K2, Selenium) to support height development and enhance immunity for children. Each box of Kun Fresh Milk is not only a nutritional gift for future generations but also contributes to forming dreams of settlement and prosperity on the lush alluvial lands of Tuyen Quang.
