Quang Tri focuses on green agriculture development
The 1st Congress of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term identified green agriculture development as one of the four economic pillars for Quang Tri's takeoff.
Immediately after the Congress, the focus on cooperation to build circular models, organic farming, and the attention of major investors to agricultural projects demonstrate the province's determination in the new term towards double-digit growth.
Quang Tri has 1.1 million hectares of agricultural, forestry, and fishery production land, accounting for 86% of the province's total natural area. With favorable geographical location, abundant natural resources, tropical monsoon climate, and diverse terrain from plains, midlands to mountains and coastal areas, it facilitates the formation of many ecological sub-regions, favorable for diversifying crops, livestock, and developing agriculture and concentrated specialized farming areas.
These are important foundations, creating favorable conditions for developing green agriculture, circular agriculture linked with ecological tourism and rural economy.
Tran Quoc Tuan, Director of the Quang Tri Department of Agriculture and Environment, stated that to build green agriculture as one of the four pillars of Quang Tri's economy, it is necessary to ensure 100% of the province's key agricultural products have traceability and establish production processes according to safety standards, making the production process transparent.
Additionally, it is crucial to address difficulties and create conditions for investors and enterprises to invest in green and organic agriculture.
Meanwhile, Le Van Bao, Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri People's Committee, affirmed that the province will provide legal support to reassure investors in agricultural production, aiming to limit unsustainable agricultural development, while considering small-scale farmers to orient them towards linking in green and organic agricultural chains, thereby creating a sustainable green agricultural production ecosystem.
Implementing the four strategic pillars: energy-logistics-tourism and green agriculture aims to realize the growth target. This is also Quang Tri's determination, along with the nation, to achieve the double-digit growth target as outlined in the draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress and to position Quang Tri as a new growth pole in the Central region, playing an important connecting role in the East-West economic corridor and the North Central Coast.
