Right from the reception hall, the Tet photo area was brightly decorated with peach blossoms, red couplets, and traditional ao dai, becoming a standout feature. Many families, especially children, eagerly captured early spring moments. Smiles in traditional attire contributed to the warm atmosphere amidst the snowy land.
The folk games area with familiar activities brought a joyful atmosphere, evoking memories of the homeland. Additionally, the diverse culinary area with typical dishes from three regions recreated the flavours of traditional Tet, while also serving as a cultural bridge with international friends.

A highlight of the program was the free screening of the film "Red Rain", attracting audiences of various generations. The activity provided reflective moments, helping attendees better understand and take pride in the cultural and historical values of the nation. The cinema space became a place for emotional connection, where expatriates found shared sentiments.
The "Homeland Spring 2026" stage was lively with performances meticulously prepared by the Vietnamese community in Toyama. From vibrant spring songs and traditional dances to modern performances, the program showcased creativity and affection towards the homeland.

In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thanh Luan, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Toyama and Head of the Organizing Committee, emphasized that the program is not only an annual cultural activity but also holds significant importance in preserving and promoting national identity among overseas Vietnamese.
He affirmed that in the new phase of national development, culture is identified as the spiritual foundation of society, both a goal and a driving force for sustainable development, and an intrinsic strength for the nation to firmly integrate deeply.
For the Vietnamese community in Japan in general and Toyama in particular, preserving the Vietnamese language, family traditions, solidarity, and the spirit of striving forward are practical contributions to the overall development of the country. In 2026, the Vietnamese community in Toyama is expected to continue growing, deeply integrating, and contributing to strengthening Vietnam-Japan friendship.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kakizawa Masahiro, Deputy Mayor of Namerikawa City, shared that the city has organized the Vietnamese Lantern Festival in Namerikawa for over 16 consecutive years. He expressed a desire to continue recreating the image of Hoi An streets with distinctive lanterns in Japan, while hoping that cultural, culinary, and artistic exchanges will help promote relations between the two localities as well as the two nations.
