The delegation visited the families of Mr. Pham Van Hung, Chairman of the General Association of Vietnamese in Laos; Mr. Phouvong Phamisith, Central Committee Member of the Lao Front for National Construction, Head of the Advisory Board on Ethnic Affairs, and Central Executive Committee Member of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association; and Mrs. Chitpasong Luangdetmixay, Director of Chitpasong Nhotninhom Corporation.
During the meetings, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam conveyed heartfelt greetings and wishes for health, prosperity, and success to the Vietnamese families who have significantly contributed to the Lao community and society.
The Ambassador acknowledged and highly appreciated the dedicated and responsible contributions of these families in key sectors such as transportation, petroleum, culture, and tourism. He affirmed that these families and businesses are vital bridges, helping to nurture and strengthen the Vietnam-Laos relationship.
The Ambassador expressed his admiration for the resilience of the Vietnamese community, who, despite facing numerous challenges in their early days in Laos, have persevered to achieve success. He praised their commitment to preserving Vietnamese cultural identity within their families and communities, maintaining a strong connection to their homeland, and adhering to the laws and policies of the Lao government.
Discussing future directions, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam emphasized the importance of connecting and organizing provincial and city associations, clubs, and chapters. He particularly highlighted the need to nurture the younger generation of overseas Vietnamese to participate in community activities, encourage investment in eco-tourism and transport infrastructure in Laos, and preserve and promote Vietnamese culture and language among both the younger generation and the Lao people.
The Party and State always consider the overseas Vietnamese community an inseparable part and an important resource of the nation. The Vietnamese Embassy in Laos will continue to provide the best possible conditions for the community to stabilize their lives, conduct business confidently, and integrate well into the local society.
In response to the delegation's sentiments, the Vietnamese families expressed their deep gratitude for the thoughtful attention of Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam and the Embassy at the start of the Year of the Horse 2026. They affirmed that this is a great source of encouragement, clearly reflecting the consistent policy of the Party and State towards overseas Vietnamese.
Representatives of the families committed to continuing to comply with the laws of both countries, integrate well, and contribute more to overall development. Additionally, they pledged to continue “inspiring” the younger generation to nurture the awareness of protecting the special Vietnam-Laos relationship, ensuring it remains evergreen and everlasting.
