"Origine" is not just an exhibition theme, but is shaped by the author as a journey inward, where individuals rediscover their roots to understand, accept, and heal.

The exhibition in Hanoi is the next stop after the project was introduced at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts at the end of March 2026, marking a notable return for the female artist after solo exhibitions in Europe and the Middle East.

Born in 1994 in Vietnam, Van Guillemin embodies a blend of French cultural foundation and Eastern sensibility.

Before pursuing painting, she studied international business law in Toulouse (France), a stable choice but insufficient to fulfill her need for inner expression.

Years spent in artistic cities like Toulouse and Paris became a catalyst, prompting her to shift towards a creative path.

The "Origine: Cội nguồn" exhibition is structured into three chapters, guiding viewers through layers of emotions and memories. It begins with "Whispers of Memory", where the painting space becomes a touchpoint with childhood and primal emotions.

Next, "Light from Wounds" opens up a perspective on pain as an essential part of the maturation journey, while celebrating the beauty of feminine energy that is gentle yet resilient.

Concluding with "Between Presence and Absence", where the boundary between the tangible and intangible gradually fades, leading individuals to a state of understanding and peace.

Through free-flowing colors and expressive structural forms, Van Guillemin's paintings do not tell specific stories but open up spaces for viewers to create their own personal experiences.

According to the artist, painting came to her as a "destiny", and is the most honest medium to express internal movements.

Organizing the exhibition in Hanoi this time, according to Van Guillemin, is not only an opportunity to introduce her creations but also a journey back to cultural roots.

She expressed her desire to continue exploring Vietnamese art and cultural life more deeply, thereby enriching her personal artistic practice and contributing to spreading indigenous values globally.
