Celebrating the Day of Family, Love, and Fidelity at the Russian Science and Culture Center in Hanoi

A representative from the Russian Science and Culture Center stated that the Day of Family, Love, and Fidelity is celebrated annually on July 8 in Russia. It is associated with Saints Pyotr and Fevronia of Murom, who are revered by Russians as symbols of enduring love, fidelity, mutual respect, and family happiness.

Family is always considered the foundation of each person's life. It is where individuals learn their first lessons about love, care, sharing, and trust. These universal values are cherished in every country, regardless of cultural, linguistic, or traditional differences.

The program commemorating the Day of Family, Love, and Fidelity is not only an occasion to honor family love and affection for loved ones and homeland but also helps the Vietnamese public learn more about the customs, wedding rituals, and unique cultural values of Russia.

The program began with a performance by Nguyen Ngoc Quy, Leader of the Bach Duong Band, featuring the song "Where the motherland begins" by composer Veniamin Basner, with lyrics by Mikhail Matusovsky.

With its deep melody and emotionally rich lyrics about homeland, family, childhood, and love for the Motherland, the performance created a warm atmosphere, marking a meaningful start to the Family Day, Love, and Fidelity celebration.

Following the musical performance, the audience enjoyed the documentary "Wedding", which depicted the unique wedding customs of ethnic groups throughout Russia. The film portrayed how people in different regions build their homes, preserve family traditions, and pass cultural values from one generation to the next.

In Russian culture, a wedding is not only a ceremony marking the union of a couple but also an occasion for both families to meet, express filial respect to parents, and share joy with relatives and the community. Traditional rituals, music, and activities rich in folk identity contribute to the sacred meaning of the wedding day, marking the beginning of a journey to build a new family.
