The Congress is considered a significant milestone in the development journey of VYSEF after its first term. During the 2021-2026 period, the organization gradually expanded its network of member associations, initiated numerous activities connecting Vietnamese youth and students, and promoted academic, cultural, and community movements across the continent.
Following democratic and responsible working sessions, the Congress successfully established the 2nd Executive Committee, consisting of 43 approved members, bringing together many young faces studying and working in Europe.
At the first Executive Committee meeting, a Standing Committee of 15 members was also elected, comprising one President and six Vice Presidents. Nguyen Phan Bao Thuy was entrusted with the position of President of VYSEF for the 2026-2031 term.
The Congress also established an Advisory Board to enhance strategic direction for the organization in the new phase. Nguyen Thi Dieu Linh, former President of VYSEF's first term, was honored as the Honorary President.
A notable highlight of the new term is the continued expansion of the network of member associations across Europe. VYSEF has admitted new member associations, increasing the total to 14 associations in countries such as France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Finland, and the United Kingdom.
This development contributes to strengthening VYSEF's role as a large-scale network connecting Vietnamese youth and students in Europe.
During the first term, VYSEF organized numerous academic and community activities such as young intellectual forums, thematic seminars, career orientation talk shows, the Vietnamese Youth and Students Festival in Europe, and charitable programs aimed at the homeland.
These activities not only created an environment for knowledge exchange but also contributed to preserving Vietnamese cultural identity among the young Vietnamese community abroad.
Entering the 2026-2031 term, VYSEF aims to develop in a more professional and sustainable direction, focusing on digital transformation, enhancing connections among young intellectuals, and promoting international cooperation. The organization also aims to build an ecosystem supporting Vietnamese students in Europe in various aspects such as education, life, and career opportunities.
Sharing at the Congress, Nguyen Thi Dieu Linh expressed hopes that the new term will implement more practical activities for Vietnamese youth, students, and the community in Europe.
According to her, one of the noteworthy directions is to build an information portal for Vietnamese people in Europe in multiple languages, supporting life, legal matters, and promoting Vietnamese culture.
Additionally, VYSEF also wishes to strengthen connections with the second and third generations of Vietnamese in Europe to jointly preserve national identity and contribute to the homeland.
New President Nguyen Phan Bao Thuy stated that the new Executive Committee will continue to build on existing foundations, promote continent-wide connection programs, and develop a team of young Vietnamese intellectuals in Europe capable of contributing more effectively to Vietnam in the future.
