Vietnamese community abroad believe this is a step that clearly demonstrates political determination in continuing to strengthen a robust leadership apparatus, ensuring continuity, stability, and development.
In an exchange with The World and Vietnam Report, Mr. Pham Khanh Nam, Editor-in-Chief of Huong Viet Magazine in Germany, stated that the consolidation of high-level leadership sends a clear message to the international community about the stability and consistency in Vietnam's development path. According to him, in the context of the world situation continuing to evolve complexly and unpredictably, political stability becomes even more important, serving as a foundation to strengthen the trust of the people and international partners.
Emphasizing the development requirements in the new phase, Mr. Pham Khanh Nam stated that the goal of making Vietnam a developed, high-income country by 2045 requires continued efforts to innovate the growth model towards enhancing quality, efficiency, and competitiveness. Accordingly, there is a need to focus on perfecting the socialist-oriented market economy institution, improving the investment environment, promoting innovation and digital transformation, creating a foundation for rapid and sustainable growth.
Referring to the resources of overseas Vietnamese, he affirmed that they are an inseparable part of the Vietnamese national community and an important resource for national development. The Vietnamese community in Europe, especially in Germany, increasingly asserts its position with high educational levels, good integration capabilities, and many practical contributions to the host society.
According to him, it is necessary to continue to improve mechanisms and policies to create more favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese to participate in investment, business, technology transfer, and intellectual contributions to their homeland; while also promoting their role as a bridge in fostering cooperative relations between Vietnam and other countries, especially in the European region.
Regarding relations with the European Union, Mr. Pham Khanh Nam noted that Vietnam is facing many opportunities as European partners push for supply chain diversification. Among them, Germany – Europe's largest economy – continues to be a leading important partner of Vietnam, with open cooperation potential in fields such as manufacturing, vocational training, renewable energy, and green transition.
However, he also noted that European market standards are increasingly high, especially in areas of environment, labor, and governance. Therefore, to effectively leverage free trade agreements, including the EVFTA, Vietnam needs to enhance its implementation capacity, better meet the requirements for sustainable development and deep integration.
Mr. Pham Khanh Nam believes that the early resolution of the "yellow card" for Vietnamese seafood related to illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing, along with the promotion of the completion of the ratification of the Vietnam-EU Investment Protection Agreement, will help strengthen market confidence, creating new momentum for economic-investment cooperation between Vietnam and Europe.
Emphasizing the requirements in the coming time, Mr. Pham Khanh Nam stated that it is necessary to continue to promote administrative reform, enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of policy implementation, ensuring consistency and coherence in deployment. This is an important factor to realize the outlined policies and directions.
In the new context, with a solid political stability foundation, clear development orientation, and high consensus throughout the system, Vietnam has all the conditions to leverage internal resources, capitalize on external forces, promote deep international integration, and drive rapid and sustainable national development in the coming decades.
