During the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang welcomed Deputy Secretary-General Yasushi Masaki and the OECD delegation to Hanoi, appreciating the support OECD has provided to Vietnam recently.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang expressed gratitude to OECD for its close collaboration with Vietnamese ministries and sectors in developing the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Quality Assessment Report for Vietnam. The Deputy Minister emphasized that the analyses and recommendations in the report are valuable references for Vietnam, especially as the Politburo has just issued Resolution No. 10-NQ/TW on developing the foreign-invested sector.
The Deputy Minister affirmed that Vietnam will continue to actively contribute to the OECD Southeast Asia Regional Programme (SEARP). She also shared that institutional reform is currently Vietnam's top priority and requested OECD to continue its partnership, policy advisory support, and close collaboration to develop the Vietnam Economic Report 2027, thereby further enhancing Vietnam-OECD cooperation in the future.
Additionally, the Deputy Minister requested OECD to continue supporting the implementation of the program for Vietnamese officials to work at the OECD Secretariat, aiming to train and enhance the capacity of Vietnamese personnel.

Discussing the Peer Review Report on Exchange of Information on Request for tax purposes, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang affirmed that Vietnam always cooperates in good faith and is actively implementing the National Action Plan to fulfill its obligations for information exchange on request and the recommendations outlined in the Report. She urged OECD to acknowledge Vietnam's efforts and achievements, particularly in improving the legal system on tax and corporate governance to align more closely with internationally recognized standards, and to conduct an in-depth assessment to fairly and objectively reflect the current situation in Vietnam.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang also expressed gratitude and appreciated OECD's willingness to support Vietnam in hosting APEC Year 2027. She requested OECD to share research results, experiences, and propose issues that Vietnam could promote during APEC Year 2027, so both sides can continue discussions and concretize them into practical cooperation content.
OECD Deputy Secretary-General Yasushi Masaki commended the economic reform achievements Vietnam has attained recently and agreed with the proposals from the Vietnamese side.
Mr. Yasushi Masaki also affirmed that OECD values Vietnam's role, especially in the SEARP; he stated that OECD will continue to closely cooperate and support Vietnam in economic development projects, tax system reform, as well as effectively coordinate preparations for APEC Year 2027.
