The highlight of the conference was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between SVUK and the Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals in the UK and Ireland.
This agreement aims to build a Vietnamese knowledge ecosystem in the UK with a vision towards 2030, prominently featuring the "Vietnam-UK Talent Bank" initiative – a network connecting students to leading experts.
The MOU goes beyond mere direction, being concretized through immediately implementable programs. Notable among these is the "UK-VN Mentoring Program", a mechanism for direct connection between professors, experts, and students.
In the context where many students lack access to Vietnamese scientists in their own learning environment, this model is expected to lay the foundation for long-term academic and career guidance.
Additionally, the "Elite Scholars Lab" model focuses on supporting outstanding students and researchers through research projects and practical activities, with the accompaniment of leading professors. As they mature, these "seeds" will continue to contribute back to the community, creating a sustainable knowledge value chain.
The "Career Bridge & Research Symposium" program on science and career orientation is also designed to connect students with businesses and universities, thereby promoting the transformation of knowledge into professional capacity and practical value.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Dao Thi Hong emphasized that connecting Vietnamese intellectuals abroad should aim for a genuinely operational ecosystem, with three key elements: a "demand-driven" mechanism from within the country, a sustainable network, and digital infrastructure for knowledge.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Thuy Ba Linh stated that Vietnamese students in the UK have the advantage of understanding domestic realities while accessing international knowledge. However, it is crucial to transform research results into applicable products, even startup projects that create economic and social value.
SVUK President, Mr. Cao Quoc Dung, affirmed that forums like "Vietnam 2045" help students better understand the goal of making Vietnam a developed, high-income country by 2045, thereby identifying their roles and responsibilities.
With topics such as biomedicine, innovation, fintech, and artificial intelligence, the conference not only engaged in academic exchange but also laid the foundation for a structured knowledge ecosystem, where ideas are nurtured and developed into tangible contributions to the nation.
