The competition took place within the framework of the Heritage of Connection - Digital Heritage Collection project, initiated by the British Council and implemented in collaboration with TUVA Communication, to create opportunities for communities to participate in, contribute to and benefit from the preservation of cultural heritage.

Organised by TUVA Communication, the programme was held with the support of the British Council in Vietnam, the Hanoi Creative Hub Coordination Centre, the Centre for Research and Promotion of Cultural Heritage Values, Craft Link and Comicola, with media support from Hanoi Grapevine and Heritage Art Space.

Under the theme “Following Community Heritage”, the competition invited individuals, communities and especially the younger generation to take part in a journey of reimagining and revitalising heritage. It was not only a creative activity to preserve the essence of heritage, but also a means of generating innovative solutions to connect heritage with contemporary life.

Launched in June 2025, the competition attracted 100 entries from students and design groups nationwide. The Jury selected 13 outstanding works for the Final Round, where the contestants presented and defended their ideas before a panel of experts in heritage, culture and design.

At the Award Ceremony, the Organising Committee presented Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes, along with Potential Awards and Audience Choice Awards, to the most exceptional works.

The exhibition also showcased all 13 works at the Hanoi Creative Hub Coordination Centre - Hanoi Museum (September 15-16), open free of charge to the public. The event offered audiences an opportunity to experience how young people are bringing heritage into creative products and linking tradition with contemporary life.

According to the organisers, cultural heritage is not only a legacy of the past but also a companion for the present. Each generation is tasked not only with inheriting but also with renewing heritage, transforming it into a source of inspiration for creativity and development.

Since 2021, Heritage of Connection has continued with new initiatives, including the Heritage Storytelling Toolkit - a set of community-built tools enabling people to explore and narrate their own heritage stories, the Community Cultural Heritage Challenge - supporting local communities in developing and implementing ideas for heritage preservation and promotion and the Digital Heritage Collection.

Through these diverse initiatives, Heritage of Connection aims to continue supporting communities in benefiting from the preservation of their cultural heritage values.
