The 'Towards the Future Path' Contest contributes to promoting reading culture
WVR - After more than six months of launching, the "Towards the Future Path" contest received 571 entries, selected 137 for the final round, and awarded 36 prizes to outstanding authors and groups.

On the afternoon of August 19, in Hanoi, Thoi bao Van hoc nghe thuat (Literature and Arts Times) in collaboration with the Institute of Educational and Environmental Sciences, the Cultural and Reading Platform, and TTS Digital Knowledge Communication JSC organized the Award Ceremony for the “Towards the Future Path” contest.
The event aimed to recognize and commend the dedication and intellect of the participating authors, continuing to spread the value of books and contribute to the development of reading culture in society. On this occasion, the organizers also launched the “Spreading Knowledge of the Future Path” contest.

Inspiring the spirit of reading, writing, and knowledge exchange
Attending the ceremony were Dr. Nguyen Minh Chung, Standing Member of the Secretariat, Head of the Communication Department of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Assoc. Prof. Dr., Musician Do Hong Quan, Non-specialized Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Union of Vietnamese Literature and Arts Associations; Dr. Dao Duy Quat, former Deputy Head of the Central Ideology and Culture Department; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Quoc Toan, former Deputy Chief of the Government Office; Mr. Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam; Lieutenant General, writer Huu Uoc, former Editor-in-Chief of People's Public Security Newspaper; writer Tran Gia Thai, Chairman of the Hanoi Writers' Association; Colonel, writer Phung Van Khai, Editor-in-Chief of Military Arts Magazine; journalist To Quang Phan, Editor-in-Chief of Citizen and Learning Promotion Magazine; historian Le Van Lan; Prof., People's Teacher Tran Dang Suyen, former Vice Rector of Hanoi National University of Education, along with numerous artists, journalists, and award-winning authors.
In his opening speech, writer and journalist Hoang Du, Editor-in-Chief of Thoi bao Van hoc nghe thuat, Head of the Organizing Committee, stated that the contest is a cultural activity aimed at spreading the content values of the book The Future Path (People's Public Security Publishing House, 2025), while also creating an academic space for readers, especially the younger generation, to explore, reflect, and propose perspectives on national development issues in the new era.

The “Towards the Future Path” contest was launched on August 1, 2025, and concluded on January 30, 2026. According to Mr. Nguyen Van Khuong, Director of the Institute of Educational and Environmental Sciences, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, the contest received 571 entries from authors of various ages, from many provinces and cities across the country.
Through the judging rounds, the Jury selected 137 entries for the final round, from which the outstanding works were awarded. The writings reflect the participants' interest in the issues raised in The Future Path - Volume 1, particularly the national development mindset in the context of globalization, scientific and technological transformation, and challenges related to the environment, climate, and social life.
Mr. Nguyen Van Khuong stated that many authors agreed that the core spirit of the work is the effort to create a national development mindset oriented towards “Openness - Humanity - Sustainability”, thereby proposing frameworks and strategic directions to help Vietnam proactively adapt to the changes of the era.

At the award ceremony, the organizers awarded 1 First Prize to Labour Hero Minh Chuyen; 2 Second Prizes to author Dinh Van Binh, reporter of Craft Village Magazine, and author Vo Chi Cong, Military Command of Ia Dal Commune, Military Command of Quang Ngai Province.
Three Third Prizes were awarded to authors Kim Quoc Hoa, former Editor-in-Chief of Elderly Newspaper; Hoang Thi Thu Ha, Principal of Nhan Thanh Secondary School, Yen Thanh, Nghe An, and Nguyen Thi Nga, employee of JO VINA JSC. The organizers also awarded 30 Consolation Prizes to authors and groups of authors.
In addition to the official contest, a supporting activity organized by the Institute of Educational and Environmental Sciences in collaboration with the Cultural and Reading Platform attracted 1,236 entries, most of which were from young authors.
The activity contributed to expanding the reach, bringing the content and messages of The Future Path closer to the community, while also creating additional motivation for the movement of reading, writing, and knowledge exchange.

Launching the “Spreading Knowledge of the Future Path” contest
A noteworthy highlight is that the “Towards the Future Path” writing contest was voted among the Top 15 Literary and Artistic Events of 2025. At the ceremony, the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations awarded a Certificate of Recognition for the 15 outstanding literary and artistic events of 2025 to the contest organizers.
On this occasion, writer and researcher Nguyen Xuan Tuan, on behalf of the Institute of Educational and Environmental Sciences, presented a set of Party Committee Logo badges of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations to the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations.
The logo set is the result of the Logo Creation Campaign for the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations and the Emblem of the First Congress of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations, sponsored by writer Nguyen Xuan Tuan and the Institute of Educational and Environmental Sciences.
On the occasion of concluding the “Towards the Future Path” contest, writer Nguyen Xuan Tuan continued to sponsor 2,000 badges bearing the Party Committee Logo of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations.
Building on the achievements, at the program, writer and journalist Hoang Du, Editor-in-Chief of Thoi bao Van hoc nghe thuat, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, officially launched the “Spreading Knowledge of the Future Path” contest.

The contest will accept entries from August 20, 2026, to March 30, 2027. With renewed rules and a diverse prize system, the organizers hope the contest will create an additional forum for readers to share perspectives, knowledge, and new approaches to the issues raised in The Future Path.
The organization of the new contest is expected to continue expanding the reader community, encouraging the spirit of learning, exchanging, and sharing knowledge, thereby contributing to bringing the values of reading culture and ideas about national development closer to social life.
