The ceremony took place in a solemn yet warm atmosphere, attended by numerous members, nearby Vietnamese associations, and many guests.
Particularly moving was the presence of founding members who have now become the first and second generations living in Freising.
They returned not only to attend the anniversary but to continue a story: the story of those who left their homeland for livelihood, yet never abandoned their roots in their hearts.
Due to a busy schedule, Mr. Luu Xuan Dong, Consul General in Frankfurt/Main, could not attend in person but sent his congratulations and a Certificate of Commendation to the Association on the occasion of its 20 years of preserving culture and community solidarity in Freising.
This is not just a formal recognition but a testament to the silent yet persistent contributions of the Association over the past two decades.

On this occasion, Mr. Dinh Van Nghia was also honoured with a Certificate of Commendation for his outstanding achievements in preserving and connecting the Vietnamese community in Freising.
Twenty years is a long enough time for a seed to grow into a green tree, for a community organization to evolve from initial meetings into a common home for many generations.
Throughout this journey, the Vietnamese Association in Freising has not only organized community activities but also become a bridge between the homeland and the host country.
Programs celebrating the Lunar New Year and Mid-Autumn Festival for children born and raised in Germany have ensured that the Vietnamese language, banh chung, traditional feasts, and New Year wishes remain vibrant over the years. This is how children growing up in Europe still know where they come from and understand that Vietnamese blood flows in their veins.

Not only inward-looking, the Association also constantly turns towards the homeland. Whenever natural disasters and floods occur in Vietnam, the Vietnamese community in Freising comes together to raise funds, sending back savings from abroad.
These contributions may not be significant in material terms, but they are full of meaning – the meaning of expatriates who always keep a close watch on every heartbeat of their motherland.
Alongside preserving identity, the Association actively promotes Vietnamese culture to international friends. In events organized by Huong Viet Magazine such as the "Vietnam in Germany" fair or the "Vietnamese Essence" program celebrating 50 years of Vietnam–Germany relations, the image of the ao dai, traditional dishes, dances, and songs have become gentle ambassadors, helping Germans and international friends better understand a peaceful, traditional, and humane country.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dinh Van Nghia, Chairman of the Association, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all members and the Vietnamese community for their support over the past 20 years.
He emphasized that the most valuable achievement of the Association is not just its visible activities, but a "Vietnamese home" in the heart of Freising – a place for the younger generation born and raised in Germany to find spiritual support, a space to understand their roots, and to grow without losing their identity.
Looking back on 20 years of the Vietnamese Association in Freising, one sees not just a journey of organizing events or connecting members, but a silent flow of humanity, of homeland memories preserved with heart.

In today's world of integration and mobility, geographical distance may be great, but the affection for the homeland has never been closer.
From Freising looking towards Vietnam, it is not just a nostalgic gaze but a responsible one – the responsibility to preserve culture, nurture the community, and pass on an indelible identity to future generations.
And perhaps, from Vietnamese homes abroad like in Freising, the story of humanity, of love for the homeland, continues to be written – quietly but persistently, like an underground stream nourishing Vietnamese roots in the heart of Europe.
