Vietnamese students win Gold medals at Nalanda University, India

On March 31, Nalanda University held its second Graduation Ceremony in Rajgir, Bihar, marking a significant milestone for over 600 new PhDs and Masters from 31 countries.
The ceremony was attended by many high-ranking officials, including President of India Droupadi Murmu; Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain, Governor of Bihar; Dr. S. Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India; Mr. Shri P. Kumaran, Additional Secretary (in charge of the Eastern Region), Ministry of External Affairs of India; along with scholars, representatives from embassies, diplomatic agencies of various countries, and families of the graduates.
At the ceremony, three Vietnamese students who won Gold Medals (valedictorians) were honoured to receive the awards directly from President of India Droupadi Murmu.

The three students are: Nguyen Huynh Xuan Trinh (Sister Lac Dieu Nga) – Valedictorian of the Master's program in Buddhist Studies, Comparative Religious Philosophy for the 2018–2020 cohort; Pham Thi Thu Thao (Sister Thien Duc) – Valedictorian of the same program for the 2021–2023 cohort; and Ngo Vo Dinh Huan (Venerable Thich Tinh Nghiem) – Valedictorian for the 2023–2025 cohort.
This achievement is the result of persistent and serious study and research; it is a source of pride for the Vietnamese monastic and student community at Nalanda, contributing to affirming the Vietnamese intellectual mark in the international academic environment.
