Before the match kicked off, despite the rainy weather in Osaka, thousands of Vietnamese fans filled the stands, creating a vibrant atmosphere in the heart of Japan.

The red of the national flag and continuous cheering created a stand that was distinctly Vietnamese, showcasing the community's affection for the team representing Vietnam on the continental stage.

Le Thuong, President of the Vietnamese Association in Kansai, stated that the presence of thousands of Vietnamese at the stadium reflects a special affection for the team and homeland.

“Even though the team has to play away from home, there is no shortage of supportive fans. Whenever a Vietnamese team comes to Osaka, people are eager to be there to cheer. Some arrive very early, while others travel tens or even hundreds of kilometers to get to Osaka. Despite the rain, everyone stayed until the end of the match. It is the spirit of compatriotism, the love of home, and the affection of Vietnamese people for their homeland when far from the country,” Le Thuong shared.

This marks the first time Hanoi Police FC has participated in the AFC Champions League Elite qualifying round. In the opening match, the Vietnamese team entered confidently and created several opportunities, but Gamba Osaka capitalized better on decisive moments.

Ultimately, CAHN lost 1-4. Takashi Usami scored twice, while Yusei Toshida and Koshiro Sumi each netted for the home team. CAHN's sole goal was scored by Brayan Perea in the 79th minute.

Although they did not achieve the desired result, the match in Osaka left a mark of unity among the Vietnamese community in Japan.

Over 5,000 fans gathered in the stands, creating a “Vietnamese home ground” in the heart of Osaka, with flags, songs, and love for their homeland.

For CAHN, the journey at the AFC Champions League Elite has just begun. Meanwhile, the presence of the Vietnamese community at Suita Stadium on the evening of September 15 shows that wherever the Vietnamese flag appears, the spirit of compatriotism and love for the homeland is always connected.
