Marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the event is not just a sporting playground - it is a vivid expression of friendship, trust, and shaping the future of strategic cooperation between the business communities of both sides.

On December 21, the tranquil green of Heron Lake Golf Course will echo with the sound of caddy cars, clubs hitting balls - but more importantly, the sound of handshakes, business card exchanges, and the start of new cooperation opportunities. With the philosophy of golf - respecting the rules, emphasising fairness, discipline, and sportsmanship - the tournament becomes a "common language" for the business community, transcending geographical or linguistic differences.

The event is organised by the Vietnam-China Business Council (VCBC) in collaboration with the Vietnam Olympic Committee. It is executed by New World International Tourism - Event and Investment Promotion Joint Stock Company and the Shenzhen China Cross-border Investment Group. Thus, the tournament is not only part of the 2025 exchange-promotion program but also marks a significant step in the international sports business landscape.

Organising it on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations (1950–2025) makes the tournament even more special. It is a reaffirmation of the strong, long-lasting Vietnam–China relationship, as well as the aspiration to open a new chapter in economic cooperation, investment, and trade, where enterprises from both countries have the opportunity to meet, understand each other better, and thereby build trust.

Golf - a place for cultural exchange, spirit, and business cooperation

The 2025 Friendship Golf Tournament attracts over 120 golfers, primarily entrepreneurs, business leaders, chairpersons, and representatives of trade promotion organisations from various fields, including import-export, logistics, real estate, technology, agricultural products (food), services (tourism), and industrial production. The diversity of participants creates great potential for multi-sector cooperation, ranging from trade and investment to supply chain logistics, tourism, and agricultural exports.

According to the organisers, participating golfers will be divided into four groups: Group A (handicap 0–15), Group B (15–24), Group C (24–36), and a group for women. Golfers without a handicap or using a daily handicap will be placed in the appropriate group. This shows that the competition criteria ensure fairness while opening doors for many businesspeople – golfers, from seasoned players to newcomers.

Golf — often seen as a sport with many rules, requiring concentration, patience, and courteous, polite behaviour — holds special significance in the business context. On the fairway, swings, whether strong or gentle, occur within the framework of respecting opponents and the rules. It is a culture: civilised, standard, polite — very fitting for the environment of commerce, investment, and international communication. Thus, golf becomes a "soft bridge" for businesspeople from both countries, not only to meet but also to experience the prestige and partnership spirit, which is crucial in cross-border business.

Not just competing - but also connecting & sharing

Besides the competition, one of the highlights of the tournament is the Gala Dinner - Networking Night, where entrepreneurs have the opportunity to sit together, chat, exchange market information, and share cooperation directions in fields such as new technology, innovation, modern agriculture, digital commerce...

Notably, this year's tournament also includes a charitable element: the organisers plan to allocate funds to contribute to community projects - a meaningful social activity that spreads the spirit of responsibility and sharing among the business community. This helps the tournament not only remain a business–sports playground but also become an expression of the ability to connect economic benefits with social benefits, contributing to the building of a responsible business community that aims for sustainable development.

When every swing carries the hope of cooperation

The official tournament format is a shotgun start, scheduled for 12:00 on December 21. On Heron Lake's course, with its green fairways, water features, and tranquil natural scenery, the atmosphere promises to be both exciting and serene.

Each swing, each ball glide, seemingly simple but carries a message: professionalism, respect, fairness - the essential foundations in business cooperation. When Vietnamese-Chinese entrepreneurs step onto the tee, they have not only golf clubs but also trust, goodwill, and the aspiration for sustainable collaboration.

Amidst the sunlight, gentle breeze, and lush greenery, conversations - exchanges - future agreements can begin. The Vietnam-China Business Friendship Golf Tournament 2025, therefore, truly serves as a bridge: between sports and business, between culture and cooperation, between 75 years of history and an expansive future.
