Vietnamese Ambassador to France Trinh Duc Hai attends USTH community gathering in Europe

The gathering was attended by Vietnamese Ambassador to France Trinh Duc Hai; Mr. Tran Manh Hung, Counselor, Head of the Science and Technology Department.
On the French side, Mr. Laurent Pandolfi, Head of International and European Cooperation for the Île-de-France region, was present. Representing the USTH Board of Directors were Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest, Principal; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Dinh Phong, Vice Principal, and Prof. Pierre Sebban, Founding Principal.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Trinh Duc Hai affirmed that USTH is not only an educational institution but also a central symbol of the strategic cooperation between Vietnam and France in education and science and technology.
The Ambassador highly appreciated the persistent support from the French side, especially the Île-de-France Regional Council, which has enabled many generations of Vietnamese students to access the world's leading innovation ecosystem.
In the context of Vietnam's efforts to become a developed nation based on a digital economy, Ambassador Trinh Duc Hai emphasized that the USTH intellectual community in Europe is a core resource, serving as a bridge to transfer advanced technology from France and Europe to contribute to the homeland.

Ambassador Trinh Duc Hai affirmed that the Embassy will always accompany and provide the best conditions to strengthen the USTH Alumni network, turning it into a prestigious and cohesive intellectual community.
On behalf of the university, Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest expressed appreciation for the attention from the Vietnamese Embassy. He committed to working with the leadership team to build USTH into a strong scientific research center, contributing to the nation's development in the new era.
At the gathering, many alumni from countries such as Switzerland, Sweden, Poland, the Netherlands, and Germany also expressed their determination to maintain connections and are ready to bring their intellect and innovative spirit back to serve the homeland.
The USTH Reunion - Europe 2026 event was not only an occasion for generations of students to express gratitude to their teachers but also affirmed USTH's position as an "incubator" of international talent for Vietnam.
