During the credentials presentation ceremony, Ambassador Trinh Duc Hai conveyed the warm regards of General Secretary Tô Lâm and other key Vietnamese leaders to President Emmanuel Macron.
Ambassador Trinh Duc Hai affirmed that the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership, the highest framework of relations, is a testament to the profound trust and enduring historical ties between the two nations.
Ambassador Trinh Duc Hai emphasized that the focus of his term is to continue the positive momentum of the comprehensive strategic partnership, ensuring that high-level agreements are implemented vigorously and effectively.
With the new status of bilateral relations, the Vietnamese Ambassador to France asserted that both sides need decisive actions to deepen and substantiate cooperation across all pillars.
President Emmanuel Macron warmly congratulated Ambassador Trinh Duc Hai on his new role and fondly recalled his state visit to Vietnam in May 2025, asking the Ambassador to convey his greetings to General Secretary To Lam.

The French President expressed his affection for Vietnam and admiration for the hospitality of its people; he affirmed that his visit to Vietnam and discussions with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Nice (6/2025) reinforced France's determination to enhance cooperation with Vietnam, aiming for breakthroughs in potential areas such as defense and security, energy, and minerals.
Amid global changes, both sides emphasized the alignment of their views on multilateralism and the rule of international law.
They agreed on the necessity of close cooperation to ensure global food and energy security, while effectively coordinating at multilateral and regional forums.
