Expressing her pleasure in meeting State Secretary Jukka Salovaara, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang highly appreciated the positive developments in Vietnam-Finland relations in recent times. She proposed that the Foreign Ministries of both countries continue to coordinate closely in their roles as coordinators to enhance comprehensive and effective cooperation. This includes organizing exchanges at various levels, promoting cooperation mechanisms between the two countries, and actively implementing signed documents and agreements.

Sharing the view that the two countries have significant potential and room to further strengthen cooperation, especially in trade and investment, science and technology, innovation, education and training, agriculture and environment, information and communication technology, semiconductors, tourism, and development cooperation, State Secretary Jumka Salovaara praised the robust growth of Vietnam's economy. He affirmed that Vietnam is Finland's leading partner in ASEAN and that Finland will promote Vietnam-EU relations.

Both sides agreed to maximize opportunities from the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and strive for stable trade growth between the two countries in the coming years. They aim to become gateways for each other's goods to penetrate the EU and ASEAN markets.

State Secretary Jukka Salovaara agreed with Vietnam's proposal to urge EU countries to promptly ratify the Vietnam-EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and to advocate for the European Council EC to lift the IUU yellow card for Vietnam.

The two sides agreed to continue close coordination and mutual support at international forums, especially at the United Nations and ASEAN-EU.

Regarding international and regional issues, both sides emphasized the role and importance of the United Nations and the rule of international law, resolving disputes by peaceful means, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, and sustainable development in the region and the world.
