Vietnamese Embassy in Finland celebrates 80th Anniversary of August Revolution and National Day
WVR - On the afternoon of August 19, the Vietnamese Embassy in Finland solemnly organized the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945- 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945- 2025).

The event was attended by leaders from Finnish ministries, sectors, and the Parliament, the diplomatic corps, major cities, the business community, and a large number of Vietnamese expatriates living, studying, and working in Finland. This demonstrates the growing interest, attachment, and deepening friendship between Vietnam, Finland, and international friends.
In her speech at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Finland Pham Thi Thanh Binh emphasized the significant historical importance of the August Revolution and National Day. These events not only changed the destiny of the Vietnamese nation but also ignited the flame of struggle for independence and freedom for many nations worldwide.
The Ambassador affirmed that over 80 years of building and development, Vietnam today has become an independent, stable, and dynamic nation in the Asia-Pacific region. The achievements in economic and social development and international integration are the results of resilience, creativity, and determination, marking a strong transformation into the "Era of Rising."

In her speech, Ambassador Pham Thi Thanh Binh highlighted that on the path of development, Vietnam always values the companionship and support of international partners, including Finland.
The cooperative relationship between the two countries in various fields – from education, technology, and innovation to trade and sustainable development – is increasingly being strengthened and expanded. Vietnam strongly believes that the traditional friendship and substantive cooperation will continue to be elevated, bringing practical benefits to the peoples of both nations.
Ambassador Thanh Binh also emphasized that the achievements attained are a source of pride and involve contributions not only from compatriots within the country but also from millions of overseas Vietnamese – including the Vietnamese community in Finland. Despite being far from home, they remain an inseparable part of the national unity bloc. "Vietnam is one, the Vietnamese nation is one. Nothing can divide the will, roots, and common future of all Vietnamese people, whether at home or abroad."
On this occasion, the Embassy organized an art exhibition themed "Vietnamese Heritage", showcasing the unique cultural features, traditional values, and natural beauty of the country. It especially introduced the heritage site of the Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son, Kiep Bac complex, newly recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage. The exhibition attracted special attention from international friends, contributing to promoting the image of a rich, dynamic, and open Vietnam.
The ceremony not only served as an occasion for the Vietnamese community in Finland to reflect on national traditions but also acted as a bridge to foster understanding and cooperation between the peoples of the two countries.
In a solemn yet warm atmosphere, the event left a profound impression, contributing to spreading the spirit of solidarity, national pride, and Vietnam's aspiration to rise in the new era.
