Hanoi celebrates joyful days leading up to National Day

WVR - In the final days of August, Hanoi puts on a vibrant new look, adorned with flags and flowers. The streets and alleys are filled with a festive and bustling atmosphere.

Residents and visitors from near and far share the same pride, capturing unforgettable moments under the fluttering national flag during the grand celebration of the nation's 80th Independence Day anniversary.

From early morning, people eagerly gather at Ba Dinh Square, neatly lining up to visit the Mausoleum.

Among the crowd, children are perched on their parents' shoulders, eyes eagerly fixed on the national flag being raised during the flag-raising ceremony.

Lieutenant Colonel Do Nhu Ninh and his family traveled from Da Nang to Hanoi to immerse themselves in the Independence Day atmosphere in the capital.

He shared: “On the weekend close to National Day, I wanted to bring my children to Hanoi to visit the Mausoleum and experience the sacred atmosphere of this significant national holiday.

For me, this is a special and proud moment. I hope my children will always remember that today's life is thanks to the immense sacrifices of Uncle Ho and previous generations.”

Nguyen Thi Huyen (Thanh Xuan, Hanoi) expressed her emotions: “Today I came to the Hanoi Flag Tower to take some commemorative photos. Standing under the fluttering red flag with a yellow star against the blue sky, I feel very moved and proud.

This is not only a historical site of the capital but also a place that reminds every citizen of the great sacrifices made for the peace and independence we enjoy today.”

In bright red ao dai, people stroll under the shining golden stars. The scene transports us back to the revolutionary autumn 80 years ago, when Ba Dinh was filled with red flags and millions of hearts beat in unison with history.

Hang Ma Street, already vibrant with lanterns and paper flowers, becomes even more magnificent with its brilliant red in the days leading up to National Day.

From early morning, shopkeepers busily display national flags, balloons, conical hats, and various colorful decorations. The shopping atmosphere becomes lively with a wide range of goods: from large flags, mini flags, banners, headbands, T-shirts with the national flag to star hats and vibrant hanging decorations...

People enthusiastically take photos, capturing memorable moments under the fluttering flags and flowers, creating a colorful picture filled with national pride in the days leading up to Independence Day.

Hanoi during the National Day celebrations on September 2nd is not only vibrant with red and yellow stars but also shines with the spirit and love for the nation in every citizen's heart. Amidst this space emerges a proud Vietnam, an indomitable nation confidently moving forward with the times.
