Viet Nam Day 2025 in Finland for the first time: A bridge to strengthen the friendship between the two countries
Delegates attend Viet Nam Day 2025 for the first time in Finland.

The event was co-organized by the Embassy of Viet Nam in Finland and various Vietnamese associations in the country, including the Organization for Vietnamese Culture, Language and Cooperation in Finland (Bizi Viet Nam), the Vietnamese Association in Finland, the Vietnamese Professionals in Finland (VPF), and the Vietnamese Students' Association in Finland (VSAF).

Viet Nam Day 2025 was supported and sponsored by several central and local government agencies such as the cities of Helsinki, Espoo, Tampere, Business Finland, as well as numerous organizations and enterprises. The event drew enthusiastic participation from the Vietnamese community and attracted around 5,000 visitors at the central square of the Finnish capital.

Viet Nam Day 2025 took place as Vietnamese people at home and abroad are joyfully celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, as well as a year marked by many other significant milestones in the nation's history, including the 50th anniversary of national reunification and the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.

Under the theme "Era of Rising Aspirations," the event showcased an image of Viet Nam as a culturally rich nation, proud of its deep historical roots, yet dynamic, innovative, and eager to integrate and reach further. The images of the Dong Son drum and the Lac bird were chosen as the central visual symbols of the 2025 theme representing the nation's origins, enduring vitality, and aspiration to soar in the new era.

Ambassador Pham Thi Thanh Binh delivered the opening speech at the event.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ambassador Pham Thi Thanh Binh emphasized the significance of the event in strengthening community solidarity, promoting VietnamFinland exchange and cooperation, and affirmed that the country's remarkable achievements over the past 80 years have laid a solid foundation for Viet Nam to confidently advance into a "new era."

On this occasion, the Embassy presented Certificates of Merit from the President of the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front and Commendation Letters from Ho Chi Minh City to several outstanding organizations and individuals in recognition of their positive contributions to community work in 2024.

Ambassador Pham Thi Thanh Binh awarded Certificates of Merit and Certificates of Merit to a number of outstanding organizations and individuals.

At Viet Nam Day 2025, guests had the opportunity to experience a wide array of vibrant Vietnamese cultural and artistic activities from traditional dances, Vovinam martial arts performances, and ao dai fashion showcases to enjoying Vietnamese culinary delights such as pho and banh mi.

Visitors also explored the Viet NamFinland Trade and Investment Promotion Exhibition Area, which featured tourism, economic and investment showcases, and created opportunities to connect and foster bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

A special family-friendly zone offered traditional Vietnamese folk games, helping to preserve and promote cultural heritage among younger generations an aspect that drew great interest and appreciation from international friends.

Following the opening ceremony, a procession of participants wearing traditional ao dai gracefully marched through the square, delivering a powerful image of a culturally rich and graceful Viet Nam.

On this occasion, a series of seminars were also held, focusing on enhancing Viet NamFinland cooperation, preserving and promoting the Vietnamese language, inspirational stories from Vietnamese professionals and intellectuals in Finland, and skills for working in the Finnish environment. These discussions were met with active participation from experts and scholars of both countries, offering valuable insights and practical knowledge for attendees.

Viet Nam Day 2025 was not only a celebration of culture and cuisine, but also a meaningful bridge strengthening the friendship between Viet Nam and Finland a celebration of a resilient, innovative, and dynamic Viet Nam, joining hands with international partners in a shared journey toward peace, cooperation, and sustainable development.
