In the vibrant atmosphere of Vientiane, contestants competed in various categories such as greetings, eloquence, and talent performances in Vietnamese.

The contest is an activity in response to the Day of Honouring the Vietnamese Language in the Vietnamese community abroad in 2026, while also creating a platform for exchange and learning for those who love the Vietnamese language and culture.

Building on the success of the first contest, this year's event saw the participation of nine teams representing various educational institutions and units in Laos, including the Lao National Academy of Politics and Public Administration, the Lao People's Public Security Political Academy, the Vientiane Capital School of Politics and Public Administration, the Vientiane-Hanoi Friendship Vocational Technical College, and other Vietnamese language training centers.

A notable point is the large number of contestants who are officials, lecturers, military officers, and police officers from Laos. This indicates a growing demand for learning and using Vietnamese, not only in educational settings but also directly serving professional work and cooperation between the two countries.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Education and Sports of Laos Kingmano Phommahaxay highly appreciated the significance of the contest in promoting the movement of learning Vietnamese and contributing to strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

According to him, learning Vietnamese will help Lao officials and citizens better understand Vietnam and its people, while also facilitating cooperative activities in various fields.

Contestants also shared that learning Vietnamese helps them gain deeper access to Vietnamese culture, expanding opportunities for exchange, learning, and career development as the relationship between the two countries continues to grow.

The success of the contest continues to affirm the spread of the Vietnamese language in Laos, while also demonstrating the growing interest of Lao agencies, organizations, and people in learning, researching, and using Vietnamese. This is also a practical activity contributing to enhancing people-to-people exchanges, educational cooperation, and cultural diplomacy between Vietnam and Laos.
