On July 22, in Hanoi, the organizers of the Standard Chartered Hanoi Heritage Marathon 2026 officially announced the season, kicking off the journey towards the main race day on November 8.
This year's season will take place from November 6-8 with distances including the Marathon (42.195km), Half Marathon (21.0975km), 10km, 5km, and the Kid Dash 2.1km for children.
The event area is set at Thong Nhat Park, providing athletes with easy access to routes passing through many of the capital's iconic cultural and historical landmarks, enhancing both the competitive experience and organizational efforts.
One of the highlights of the season is the introduction of the Enterprise Cup for the first time, a playground specifically for the business community to encourage health training and strengthen connections.

The championship team will be rewarded with a trip to participate in the Standard Chartered Shanghai 10KM Run in Shanghai, thereby expanding opportunities to interact with the international running community.
Additionally, the Race Expo, Leaders Run, and various side activities will continue to be organized, contributing to creating a forum for connection between businesses, partners, and the running community.
Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Nguyen Tri Man, Strategy and Market Development Director of the organizing unit, stated that the goal of the event is not only to provide a professional and safe playground for athletes to conquer personal achievements but also to build a platform to promote civilized, united, and environmentally friendly values through sports.
According to the organizers, sustainable development remains one of the focal points of the 2026 season. The official race attire is made from fabric fibers sourced from recycled materials to minimize plastic waste, encourage responsible consumption, and align with Vietnam's Net Zero emissions target by 2050.

Alongside the competitive activities, the event continues to implement various community programs. The "Donate Old Shoes - Receive Joy" program will collect used running shoes, clean them, and donate them to children and those in difficult circumstances.
Meanwhile, the "Light Up the Run" program continues to support visually impaired athletes by connecting them with companions and developing suitable support plans, contributing to expanding access to sports for everyone.
Trinh Nhu Quynh, Director of External Relations, Marketing, and Branding at Standard Chartered Vietnam, a member of the organizing committee, stated that as the main sponsor, Standard Chartered aims to encourage the community to build a healthy lifestyle, improve health, discipline, and the spirit of overcoming personal limits.
According to her, the marathon not only creates a sports experience but also provides an opportunity for everyone to connect, inspire, and spread positive values to the community.

Another notable highlight of this year's season is the selection of Long Bien Bridge as the official heritage symbol of the event.
The image of the over 120-year-old bridge not only represents the historical and cultural depth of Hanoi but also conveys a message of connection between the past and the present, between sports and culture, tourism, and between the Vietnamese community and international friends.
| Organized annually since 2018, the Hanoi Heritage Marathon is the official race of Hanoi city and a member of the Vietnam Athletics Federation and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). With routes standardized by AIMS, passing through famous landmarks such as Hoan Kiem Lake, West Lake, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, and the Old Quarter, the marathon increasingly attracts a large number of domestic and international athletes, contributing to promoting Hanoi as a destination for sports, culture, and tourism. Entering its third season under the name Standard Chartered Hanoi Heritage Marathon, the organizers hope the event will continue to affirm its position as an international race, connecting communities, spreading a positive lifestyle, and promoting the heritage values of the capital to friends worldwide. The Standard Chartered Hanoi Heritage Marathon is currently a member of the Age Group Ranking System under the Abbott World Marathon Majors. Achievements at the event are recognized as qualifying standards for participation in prestigious marathons within the World Marathon Majors system, including Boston, Tokyo, London, Berlin, Chicago, New York City, and Sydney Marathon. |
