In his opening remarks at the seminar, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Vu emphasized that the 14th National Party Congress is a crucial milestone in the development of the Party and the nation. It is decisive for Vietnam's future development in the new era. The Congress not only reviews the past five years of development and sets goals and tasks for the next five years but also shapes strategic thinking, vision, and development orientation for the country until the mid-21st century.
Four speakers, including Dr. Kin Phea, Director of the Cambodian Institute of International Relations, Royal Academy of Cambodia; Master Him Raksmey, Executive Director of the Cambodian Regional Research Center; Master Thong Mengdavid, Institute of International Relations and Public Policy, Royal University of Phnom Penh; and Dr. Seun Sam, Royal Academy of Cambodia, presented discussions on building the Party in the new era, enhancing the leadership capacity of the Communist Party of Vietnam; the relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Cambodian People's Party, cooperation directions after the 14th Congress; Vietnam's foreign policy and Vietnam-Cambodia relations post-Congress; and economic cooperation prospects between Vietnam and Cambodia after the 14th Congress.
The speakers praised the role of the Communist Party of Vietnam since its establishment in the building and defending of Vietnam, as well as in assisting neighboring countries, including Cambodia, in their liberation, construction, and development efforts. They noted the Party's exceptional ability to “adapt and self-renew”, making timely and groundbreaking decisions that helped Vietnam transition from a war-torn, impoverished nation to a stable, rapidly developing middle-income economy.
The speakers commended Vietnam's foreign policy under the Party's leadership, which has contributed to building a peaceful, stable Vietnam with increasing prestige and influence both regionally and internationally.

They expressed hope that after the 14th Party Congress, the relationship between the two Parties and countries will become even closer and more substantive across all fields. They also proposed several specific solutions to enhance bilateral relations, such as strengthening consultation and strategic coordination mechanisms, establishing joint working mechanisms in diplomacy, defense, security, and economy, increasing interwoven interests across fields, promoting joint investment, especially in infrastructure, digital technology, and green economy, and cooperating on climate change mitigation, Mekong River management, and sustainable agricultural development.

At the photo exhibition, delegates were introduced to vivid historical images of the relationship between the two Parties and countries from the 1960s to the present. Notably, there were images of Vietnamese and Cambodian founding leaders such as President Ho Chi Minh and King Norodom Sihanouk, who laid the foundation for Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic relations in 1967.
The successful organization of these two events contributed to helping Cambodian and Vietnamese delegates better understand the relationship between the two Parties and countries, the significance of the 14th Party Congress, and the “good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability” between Vietnam and Cambodia.
