Congratulating Ambassador Touch Sopharath on being entrusted with the responsibility of Cambodian Ambassador to Vietnam, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung expressed confidence that the Ambassador will excel in her duties and actively contribute to the friendship between the two countries.
The Minister emphasized that Vietnam always prioritizes fostering solidarity, attachment, and friendship with Cambodia. He also expressed delight at the positive developments in Vietnam-Cambodia relations in recent times. The Minister affirmed that the cooperation mechanism between the two Parties continues to play a guiding role in the sustainable development of bilateral relations, benefiting the people of both nations.
Minister Le Hoai Trung particularly highlighted the significance of the visit to Cambodia and the co-chairing of the High-Level Meeting between the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party, along with the meeting between the leaders of the three Parties of Vietnam-Cambodia-Laos, led by General Secretary To Lam. This holds special historical importance for the relations among the three countries.
Frequent high-level visits and interactions at various levels have contributed to strengthening the trust and closeness between the leaders and people of the two countries. Defense and security cooperation remains tight and stable, bilateral trade is a highlight, and people-to-people exchanges are increasingly vibrant.

Ambassador Touch Sopharath expressed her honor at being appointed Ambassador to Vietnam and affirmed her commitment to actively collaborate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and various Vietnamese ministries, sectors, and localities to implement the commitments and agreements of the high-level leaders of the two Parties and countries, thereby enhancing effective and substantive cooperation across all fields.
The Ambassador congratulated Vietnam on its recent achievements in socio-economic development and administrative reform, highlighting the significant contributions of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She expressed confidence that Vietnam will continue to achieve greater success, realizing the development goals set by the 14th Party Congress.

The Ambassador fully agreed with Minister Le Hoai Trung's recommendations on enhancing political trust, regularly organizing high-level visits and interactions, strengthening defense and security cooperation, coordinating responses to non-traditional security challenges, enhancing economic connectivity, infrastructure connectivity between the two countries, and border gate connectivity. She also emphasized promoting cultural, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges, and organizing grand activities to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (June 24, 1967-2027).
On this occasion, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung and Ambassador Touch Sopharath also shared views on the importance of peace, stability, and cooperation in the region and sub-region, resolving differences through dialogue and peaceful means.
Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung emphasized the significance of promoting cooperation and intra-ASEAN solidarity to jointly address current challenges arising from global economic and social fluctuations.
