On May 15, Ambassador Vu Thanh Huyen paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Asha-Rose Migiro, Secretary-General of the Revolutionary Party of Tanzania (CCM) at the CCM Party Central Headquarters.

During the meeting, Ambassador Huyen expressed her honour to meet Secretary-General Asha-Rose Migiro, a long-time close friend of Vietnam.

On this occasion, the Ambassador warmly congratulated Tanzania on its comprehensive development achievements under the leadership of the CCM Party and President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

The Ambassador also expressed deep admiration for Dr. Migiro's legacy contributions as Tanzania's first female Foreign Minister and the first African woman to hold the position of Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations; she also expressed gratitude for her visit to Vietnam in 2009.

Ambassador Huyen affirmed that Vietnam always cherishes the profound traditional friendship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the CCM Party.

To concretize Party channel cooperation, the Ambassador affirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam is always ready to welcome high-level delegations from the CCM Party to visit and work in Vietnam, especially in 2026.

Responding to the Ambassador, CCM Party Secretary-General, Dr. Asha-Rose Migiro, expressed her gratitude for the delegation's visit and her emotional attachment to the memories of Vietnam and its people from 2009.

Ms. Migiro reaffirmed the strong, historically significant traditional relationship between the CCM Party and the Communist Party of Vietnam, emphasizing that this is an invaluable asset that the leadership and people of both countries should continue to inherit and promote.

Praising Vietnam's development achievements, Secretary-General Asha-Rose Migiro expressed a desire for the two Parties and States to not only maintain excellent political relations but also actively expand comprehensive cooperation in various fields.

She also affirmed that the CCM Party always welcomes and is ready to promote the exchange of high-level delegations between the two sides, considering this a strategic lever to elevate bilateral relations.

Regarding economic cooperation, Ambassador Vu Thanh Huyen highlighted Halotel (Viettel-Tanzania) as a successful symbol with its "integrated economy serving rural communities" model, perfectly aligning with the CCM Party's social welfare goals.

Acknowledging this proposal, Secretary-General Asha-Rose Migiro highly appreciated Halotel's practical contributions to telecommunications infrastructure and social welfare in Tanzania's rural areas.

She affirmed that the CCM Party and the Tanzanian government will continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions for Halotel to develop robustly, deserving to be a symbol of effective economic cooperation and solidarity between the two nations.

The meeting took place in a warm atmosphere, full of friendship. Both sides are confident that the relationship between the two Parties and countries will continue to develop deeply and prosperously.
