Also in attendance were Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha; Vice Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Ha Thi Nga; leaders of ministries, central agencies; leaders of 8 central provinces and cities; and leaders of several economic corporations.

Due to storms and floods at the end of 2025, from Quang Tri to Lam Dong, 1,597 houses were destroyed or swept away, requiring reconstruction, and 34,759 houses needed repairs.

With the goal of ensuring every household has a home for the Lunar New Year, the Prime Minister launched the "Quang Trung Campaign" to rebuild and repair homes for those affected by storms and floods in the central region. Responding to the Prime Minister's call, ministries, agencies, units, businesses, and citizens have rapidly mobilized.

Chairing an online conference with central provinces and cities, Prime Minister Chinh reviewed the implementation of the campaign, launched to ensure that no disaster-affected household is left without safe shelter as the country prepares for major political and cultural milestones.

At the conference on December 30, 2025, with the successful repair of 34,759 houses, achieving 100% of the target, the Prime Minister directed to "capitalize on the victory" and complete the reconstruction of homes by January 15, helping residents stabilize their lives and celebrating the 14th Party Congress.

Following the Prime Minister's directive, ministries, agencies, and localities continue to push the "Quang Trung Campaign". To date, 1,046 out of 1,597 new houses have been completed, reaching 65.5%. The remaining houses have commenced construction, with progress ranging from 60 to over 80% completion.

At the conference, corporate leaders reported that infrastructure for electricity, water, and telecommunications has been fully restored in localities. Discussions revealed no significant obstacles in implementing the "Quang Trung Campaign", including funding, labor, and construction materials.

Most localities committed to completing the reconstruction of homes by January 15. A few families in Lam Dong and Dak Lak, who require larger-scale houses, will finish later but still before the 14th Party Congress and the Lunar New Year.

Concluding the conference, Prime Minister Chinh acknowledged and praised the ministries, agencies, localities, especially the leaders, for their active and effective implementation of the "Quang Trung Campaign". He expressed joy that all 34,759 households with repaired homes have resumed normal living, and infrastructure for electricity and telecommunications has been fully restored.

With the goal of ensuring no resident is without a home by January 15, the Prime Minister urged the entire local political system to maximize efforts, especially the military, police, and socio-political organizations, to "accelerate, accelerate even more", with the spirit of "working three shifts, four teams", "overcoming the sun, defeating the rain, not losing to the weather", "working day and night, even on holidays", "eating quickly, working urgently" to ensure the "Quang Trung Campaign" meets its objectives, for the joy and happiness of the people.

Alongside housing construction, the Prime Minister requested localities to restore infrastructure for electricity, water, telecommunications, environmental sanitation, and transportation; particularly reviewing the essential needs of the people, such as televisions and refrigerators, to mobilize resources and call for support so that everyone can enjoy the atmosphere and follow the 14th National Party Congress; benefiting from the achievements brought by the Party and State, and celebrating a warm, safe, and healthy Lunar New Year.

The Prime Minister proposed supporting 34,759 households in 8 central provinces and cities with repaired homes, each receiving 5 million VND, and nearly 5,000 households with destroyed or swept-away homes nationwide since the beginning of the year, each receiving 10 million VND, to help them restore production and purchase essential items and equipment.

The Prime Minister emphasized the need for oversight to ensure that support for the people is transparent and free from waste and corruption.

Highlighting that the "Quang Trung Campaign" is a deeply humanitarian initiative, the Prime Minister called on all levels, sectors, localities, organizations, individuals, and businesses to continue their support; requested a compilation of organizations and individuals with significant contributions to the "Quang Trung Campaign" for timely recognition and rewards; and encouraged continued reporting to commend, replicate exemplary models, and draw lessons for future movements and tasks.
