Secretary general of the Sri Lanka-Viet Nam solidarity association received Friendship Order
On the 19th January, the Embassy of Viet Nam in Sri Lanka to be authorized by President of Viet Nam organized a ceremony to award the Friendship Order of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to Mr. Sudasinghe Sugathapala.

Mr. Sudasinghe Sugathapala is the Secretary General of the Sri Lanka - Viet Nam Solidarity Association and Deputy General Secretary of the Communist Party of Sri Lanka.
Mr. Sudasinghe received the Friendship Order from Ambassador of Viet Nam to Sri Lanka Ho Thi Thanh Truc, at the ceremony attended by the President and members of the Sri Lanka – Viet Nam Solidarity Association.
At the ceremony, the Ambassador of Viet Nam appreciated the contribution of Mr. Sudasinghe and the Sri Lanka – Viet Nam Solidarity Association in enhancing the traditional and multi-faced relationship between Viet Nam and Sri Lanka.
Mr. Sudasinghe conveyed his gratitude to the Government of Viet Nam for awarding him the Friendship Order. He further expressed the desire of himself and the Sri Lanka – Viet Nam Solidarity Association to work closely with Viet Nam for the betterment of the people of both countries.

The Order of Friendship was given to Mr. S. Sudasinghe to acknowledge his outstanding contributions to honouring President Ho Chi Minh, Vietnamese Hero of National Liberation and Great Man of Culture.
This was the second time that Mr. Sudasinghe Sugathapala was awarded with the Order of Friendship by Viet Nam. In 2014, during the launch of Viet Nam – Sri Lanka Friendship Association in Ha Noi, he was first conferred with Viet Nam’s noble award to recognize his notable contributions to the development of friendship between the people of the two countries.
