Vibrant first Vietnamese Day of Pho in Bulgaria

The event attracted a large number of guests, including ambassadors, representatives from diplomatic agencies, international organizations, leaders from various ministries, businesses, media, and Bulgarian friends. This marks the first time Vietnamese Day of Pho has been held in Bulgaria.

Amidst the Christmas-themed setting in the heart of Sofia, the Vietnamese Day of Pho event offered attendees a unique and warm cultural exchange experience.

In her opening remarks, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet expressed her delight in welcoming many Bulgarian and international friends to explore and experience Pho, one of Vietnam’s most iconic and beloved dishes. She emphasized that Pho is not just a dish but also a taste of home, a symbol of Vietnamese culinary soul.

The Ambassador shared insights into the sophistication of Pho, a seemingly simple dish that requires patience and harmony in every step of its preparation.

She affirmed that this is not just a culinary promotion event but also a cultural bridge connecting Vietnam with international friends. She hopes that Vietnamese Day of Pho in Sofia will further deepen the friendship and promote cultural and tourism exchanges between Vietnam and Bulgaria.

The highlight of the event was the demonstration of Pho beef preparation and tasting, performed by chefs from Thang Long Restaurant in true Hanoi style.

Guests were particularly fascinated by witnessing the delicate presentation and harmonious blend of colors and flavors of the ingredients.

Leaders from Bulgarian ministries, ambassadors, and local friends described the event as “a wonderful opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture through traditional cuisine”.

Most guests tasting Pho for the first time expressed surprise at its flavors.

During the event, attendees were also invited to enjoy the taste of Vietnamese coffee.

As the program concluded, attendees not only carried with them the flavors of a distinctly Vietnamese dish but also gained a deeper understanding and affection for Vietnamese culture. Vietnamese Day of Pho on December 12 in Sofia truly spread the message “Elevating Vietnamese rice - Spreading across the continents”, bringing Vietnamese cuisine closer to the people of Bulgaria and international friends.
