Quang Ninh province continued to retain the first position in Viet Nam’s Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI). This information was announced by the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) at a ceremony held in Ha Noi on May 9.

This is the 7th time that Quang Ninh has topped this ranking with 71.25 points thanks to its incentives to attract investment and improve administrative procedures.

This result reflected local people's confidence in the government as wel as the increasing appriciation from the business community and investors towards the governance and management of Quang Ninh government.

Speaking at the cermony, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, Cao Tuong Huy, stressed that the positive result shows the great efforts of Quang Ninh in improving the bussiness climate and raising the povincial competitive index.

It also shows Quang Ninh’s big changes in its rapid development orientation as well as its great efforts to fulfill commitments to effectively resolving the existing difficulties facing local enterprises.

With enterprises praising its efforts to cut non-official costs and improve administrative procedures, the Mekong Delta province of Long An came second with 70.94 points.

The rest of the top five were the northern port city of Hai Phong (70.34 points), the northern province of Bac Giang (69.75 points), and the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap (69.66 points).

The 2023 report on PCI and Provincial Green Index (PGI) revealed that the business community commended the efforts of local authorities to better their business climate, with the nation’s average CPI being 66.66 points, or 1.44 points higher than the figure in 2022

The PCI report highlighted the great efforts made by Quang Ninh province last year in terms of accelerating the administrative reform and improving the local business climate in a proactive and drastic manner, thereby helping save time for enterprises.
