Attending the aid reception were Mr. Mirosław Adamczyk, Chargé d'affaires of the Polish Embassy, Mr. Rafael Jose De Bustamante Tello, Minister-Counselor of the European Union (EU) Delegation in Vietnam, and Mr. Nguyen Truong Son, Deputy Director General of the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention under Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
The seven tons of aid from the Polish Government include essential items (blankets, tents, buckets, basins, and tubular elastic bandages…) which are crucial in meeting basic living needs and assisting local residents in overcoming disaster consequences and stabilizing their lives.
In recent times, the Polish Government and people have consistently supported Vietnam through challenging periods caused by natural disasters and pandemics. Notably, during the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, Poland was among the first EU countries to aid Vietnam with nearly 1.4 million doses of AstraZeneca and over 8 tons of medical equipment valued at approximately 3.6 million USD.
Assessing this event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Poland Ha Hoang Hai affirmed that this is a noble gesture from the Polish Government and people, rich in humanitarian spirit, reflecting the enduring traditional friendship between the two nations and peoples. The Ambassador emphasized that this gesture is even more significant as this year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
