Vietnamese communities in France, Poland, and Republic of Korea support domestic efforts to overcome storm aftermath

WVR - Responding to the call from Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, the Vietnamese community in various countries continues to actively contribute and support their compatriots back home, thereby affirming their solidarity and connection with their homeland.

At the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), on December 17, representatives of the Vietnamese community in Nice, France, handed over 2,120 Euros to support those affected by natural disasters.

Earlier, on December 15, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Poland, representing the Vietnamese business community in Poland, handed over 485 million VND to support efforts to overcome storm aftermath.

This is the second fundraising campaign by the Vietnamese community in Poland. In the first campaign, they directly sent 1,239,250,000 VND to the Central Committee of the VFF.

Also in December, representatives of the Vietnamese community in Republic of Korea handed over more than 246 million VND, contributed by Vietnamese expatriates and businesses in Republic of Korea.

Speaking at the reception, Mr. Le Thanh Tu, Deputy Head of the Social Mobilization Department of the Central Committee of the VFF, stated that the prolonged storms from early October 2025 have affected 23 provinces and cities, from Lang Son to Lam Dong, causing severe damage to people, homes, and property, with total estimated losses of about 8,000 billion VND.

According to Mr. Le Thanh Tu, alongside the efforts of the entire political system and the people within the country, the overseas Vietnamese community has upheld the tradition of mutual support, actively contributing both materially and spiritually, focusing on their homeland.

To date, the Central Committee of the VFF has welcomed nearly 85 delegations of overseas organizations and individuals returning to directly donate money and goods to support those affected by natural disasters.

On this occasion, the leadership of the Central Committee of the VFF informed the overseas Vietnamese about the storm aftermath recovery efforts, including the implementation of the "Quang Trung Campaign" with urgency and determination to rebuild and repair homes damaged by natural disasters in the central provinces.

The leadership expressed deep appreciation and gratitude to the overseas Vietnamese for their trust and companionship with the VFF in social welfare efforts, affirming that the management and use of support resources will be conducted transparently, openly, and effectively.
