Speaking at the ceremony, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki highly appreciated the persistent contributions of Kim Dong Publishing House in bringing Japanese manga closer to Vietnamese readers.

Through imaginative and humane stories such as Doraemon, Detective Conan, and Dragon Ball, Japanese culture has found a familiar bridge to connect with Vietnamese readers.

Highlighting the achievements in cultural exchange, Ambassador Ito Naoki shared that the exhibition 30 Years with Memories - Detective Conan, held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in 2024, attracted over 22,000 visitors.

Besides publishing activities, the Doraemon Scholarship Fund also stands as a testament to the human values nurtured from the love of books and cultural connection.

Established in 1996 with funding from the royalties of the Doraemon series by the late author Fujiko F. Fujio, this fund has supported nearly 15,000 disadvantaged Vietnamese children to continue their education, spreading the spirit of compassion and sharing within the community.

Recognizing the proactive efforts of Kim Dong Publishing House in spreading culture, Ambassador Ito Naoki recalled the milestone in 2025 when the unit donated 100 Vietnamese-language Japanese comics to the Cultural Information Centre of the Embassy.

Furthermore, Ambassador Ito Naoki noted that under the leadership of General Secretary and President To Lam, Vietnam is intensifying the development of cultural industries, aiming to expand its influence in Vietnam as well as abroad.

In this context, Kim Dong Publishing House contributes to realizing this orientation through publishing activities, bringing Japanese works closer to Vietnamese readers.
