Novruz – A Symbol of new beginnings and connection

Novruz Bayram is a traditional festival with a history of over 3,000 years, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, symbolizing rebirth, new beginnings, and the aspiration for peace.

At HCCT, the festival was vividly reenacted with traditional rituals such as the "egg cracking" for luck and lighting the Novruz fire – a symbol of purification and renewal. This space also evokes similarities with Vietnam's Lunar New Year in the spirit of reunion and community bonding.

In her welcoming speech, Dr. Trinh Thi Thu Ha, Principal of HCCT, emphasized the comprehensive significance of the Novruz Bayram Festival 2026 in the context of cultural exchange and international integration.

She stated that the college's collaboration with the Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan Embassies to organize the festival not only creates a unique cultural space but also embodies the spirit of connection, new beginnings, spreading hope, and fostering bonds between communities.

According to her, HCCT's three consecutive years of hosting the festival is a testament to the trust and increasingly strong cooperative relationships with international partners. The festival is not only a cultural activity but also a space for cultural exchanges, helping to strengthen the friendship between peoples.

The Principal affirmed that the event holds strategic significance in the journey of integration, providing opportunities for faculty and students to access the diverse values of the world.

On this occasion, she also expressed gratitude to the agencies, partners, and culinary experts who accompanied and contributed to the success of the festival, where cuisine becomes a cultural bridge overcoming all distances.

"The festival is also a celebration of renewal, unity, and hope. We believe that from these meaningful encounters, good relationships will continue to be nurtured and spread," Dr. Trinh Thi Thu Ha affirmed.
