Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Vietnam Family Day (28/6/2001-28/6/2026), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has launched a writing contest themed "Warm and Loving Family Meal", aiming to honor traditional values and affirm the bonding role of family meals in Vietnamese family life.

According to the newly issued plan, the contest is one of the key activities in the series of events celebrating the 25th anniversary of Vietnam Family Day (28/6/2001-28/6/2026).

Through the contest, the organizers wish to create a platform for people from all walks of life to share memories, touching stories, gratitude, and traditional moral values nurtured around the family meal.

The family meal has long been more than just a culinary need; it is a special cultural space – a place where generations gather, converse, share joys and sorrows, and teach children their first life lessons.

In the busy pace of modern life, where many families have fewer opportunities to dine together, evoking the significance of the reunion meal becomes even more essential.

The contest aims to affirm the important role of the family in shaping human character; at the same time, it seeks to spread the good moral standards and values of Vietnamese families.

Thereby, it contributes to raising awareness among all levels, sectors, and society about the position and role of the family in sustainable national development, thereby promoting practical actions to build prosperous, equal, progressive, and happy families.

Regarding content, participants can choose from a variety of rich and diverse expressions. In the "Unforgettable Memories" category, authors can recount meals associated with a turning point, an incident, or a great joy of the family. The "Taste of Home" theme encourages writing about simple dishes from grandmothers and mothers and the spiritual meaning behind each flavor.

With the theme "Connection", submissions can reflect on meals that help resolve conflicts and bridge generational gaps.

In the "Family Education from the Meal" direction, authors explore the role of meals in imparting lessons on behavior, gratitude, subtlety, and sharing – concepts encapsulated in the familiar proverb "Learn to eat, learn to speak, learn to pack, learn to open".

Additionally, the contest opens a modern perspective with the theme "Modern Perspective", encouraging reflections on family meals in the context of digital transformation, "online meals", Tet meals in the technology era, or efforts to maintain the habit of dining together amid the digitalized lifestyle.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism hopes each entry will be a sincere story, contributing to rekindling family affection, nurturing good traditions, and spreading the message of love from the simplest yet most sacred space – the family meal.

The contest is organized from February 2026 to the end of June 28, 2026, nationwide, for all Vietnamese citizens inside and outside the country aged 6 and above. The contest language is Vietnamese. The prize structure includes 01 First Prize, 02 Second Prizes, 03 Third Prizes, and 03 Consolation Prizes.
